Tulane $35k/year vs. T14 sticker Forum

I would consider Vandy but likely pay sticker at the T14. Tulane would be out of the equation for me unless I really wanted to stay there for life.

Op, how much did you get from Vandy? Given the current situation, I would strongly consider moving the T14 (Georgetown?) from contention.

So...I am assuming you are looking what, $60,000 or so for Tulane and $160,000 or so for Vanderbilt?

According to TLS results and other unofficial reports, only about 40 percent of Georgetown got big law, ie the only jobs that pay 160, if only 40 percent got biglaw, its safe to assume that most of the basement dwellers at Georgetown are/will be unemployed at graduation, employed in shit law, making the same as most Tulane graduates, or working non law/temp law jobs

Tulane - In law firms 57%, non-professional: 1%, Professional where JD not helpful: 5%, Professional where JD helpful but not required (example given FBI special agent, gov't regulatory agent): 3%, Bar passage required: 92%

Georgetown - In law firms 74%, non-professional: 0%, Professional where JD not helpful: 4%, Professional where JD helpful but not required: 3%, Bar passage required: 89%

check tulanes NLJ250 placement numbers.. They are more accurate.

Tulane claims to not negotiate, so you'll probably have no luck convincing them to up you from 25k/yr to 35k/yr OP. Vandy might be a good bet, but how much cash are they offering?

BTW this thread seemed to start with solid stuff, but at this point it looks like op is just making up hypotheticals...I mean he didn't bring up Vandy until someone in the thread mentioned Vandy.

yeah I asked if they would give me more than 25k last year, and admin said is was completely based on numbers. thus, OP will not be getting an increase to 35k per year.

Sorry, the Tulane 25k and low T14 acceptance are in the bag, the 35k was hypothetical - and, it seems, a useless hypothetical. I have not gotten into Vanderbilt yet.
