No. If anything, your age will have a slightly negative impact. Nothing will overcome numbers not up to par at schools.

Probably not though, as age doesn't factor in as an URM.

although my family is sure i can get into UT they dont want me to attend they said it would be to close to home and they dont want me to come home every weekend . So UT would prolly be out of the question before it even came up with them

You would not go to the best school in the state because it was TOO close to home? That is a really really dumb reason.
