This sounds like an accurate prediction.

Hard to see an Oregon t2 transitioning well to Fla.

Vanderbilt: 140,000 total cost

University of Washington: 100k total cost

Live in Washington, Really liked Vanderbilt Campus and UW campus. Would be happy in Pac NW but don't really know what or where I want to practice. Thoughts?

Edit: Don't want to practice in midwest or South.

Iowa (in-state tuition)
Illinois ($30k with OOS tuition)

Don't mind the Midwest as long as it's a larger city.
Not committed to the Chicago market specifically but not against it either if that's how it ends up.
Thinking St. Louis after graduation; open to change
Interested in PI/gov't work; open to change

Vanderbilt is definitely worth an extra 40K... still cheap COA, great weather, and your opportunities coming out of the school are basically on par with the T14 (especially given the smaller class size.)

Go to Vandy! The Bball team will be awesome next year as well

If you want St Louis, what happened to WUSTL?

If you want Chicago, UIUC,.

Northwestern for sure unless you plan on practicing in LA/SoCal.

Some cities in the South have awesome Quality of Life... given your options, Vandy is better by quite a lot.. Cities like Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, etc are pretty similar to Northern Counterparts. (Especially say from VA thru Penn).

WUSTL = rejected. Predictable but still sucks.
Chicago isn't necessary but not wholly undesirable.
