ITT, we imagine L.A. away (if only you could do it with da traffic).nealric wrote:Better placement than a lot of T1 schools- almost 30% NLJ250 placement during the boom. They've supposedly gotten the funding they need to get to T1 status.I need some reasons for why Houston should be that high.
Put it this way: Houston is the largest city in the U.S. without a T14 school. You do have UT, but they divide their placement between Austin, San Antoni, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Houston. What really holds Houston back is the awful facilities and the reputation of the undergrad institution.

Rutgers-N, Houston, Temple, UW-Seattle, Tulane, Hastings, University of Oregon (I don't care what anyone says, it is better than L&C), William Mitchell, Ole Miss, UConn.

Haha, this thread is so close to making sense though. If only the OP had said something like "schools that place into biglaw better then their rank suggests", then this thread would only be redundant and not completely ridiculous.neskerdoo wrote:one of the worst threads yet conceived.

Explain, please. I have a pretty good scholarship offer from them so I've been frantically trying to gather information about their placement/reputation in SoCal. From what I've read, it seems that Loyola LA has them beat in terms of regional placement and reputation.GradPath2011 wrote:Pepperdine

UT defintely has them beat for rep in the state of Texas and SMU rivals Houston for rep in the state, although the sticker at SMU is ridiculous.nealric wrote:Better placement than a lot of T1 schools- almost 30% NLJ250 placement during the boom. I'd like to see what the NLJ250 placement is now, after the boom.

Ole Miss? The fuck? I need some explanation on how that is a powerhouse law school in the South. I'll agree with you on Tulane. You got to explain to me how Rutgers and Seattle fit in there.A'nold wrote:Rutgers-N, Houston, Temple, UW-Seattle, Tulane, Hastings, University of Oregon (I don't care what anyone says, it is better than L&C), William Mitchell, Ole Miss, UConn.
And I always thought UConn was held in pretty high regard. Just UConn has Ivy League powerhouses right in their region so maybe they get overshadowed a bit.

He is not saying it is a powerhouse law school, it isn't. But like most every other SEC state school, it is the best public school in its state, and it technically places out of state (Memphis); so it is arguably better than its TTT ranking would suggest.darknightbegins wrote:Ole Miss? What makes Maryland better than their rank? What rank would you put them at? Just curious since it's my state school.OneKnight wrote:Maryland

Meh alright, if you want to say it has about as much pull as TT SEC schools I'd be comfortable with that. Its just located in Miss that puts it at TTT rank I think.deadpanic wrote:He is not saying it is a powerhouse law school, it isn't.
