I hadn't looked at OP's profile. With a 168, OP likely does have good money at Illinois. Like I said, all things equal I would choose Illinois too, but just because it is generally considered a better school, not because Indiana is overranked.[/quote]

It is overranked

Dude, just stfu. I didn't say they weren't overranked. I said it is stupid to not attend a school because it is perceived to be overranked.

+1
choosing a law school because it is perceived by employers in the legal field to be better could serve one well, but i don't think choosing a school based on the explicit ranking of a school is very wise, because usnews rankings doesn't necessarily match up with schools' reputation among employers.

Oh? Because I've lived in 4 big ten cities, and Bloomington is at the top. But I guess "driving through" a portion of the state is sufficient to judge an entire state. All soy beans. Obviously.

What charm does UIUC have. I am in the UGL right now and it looks like an underground prison.

I've driven through Indiana millions of times. Its the same as non-Chicagoland Illinois, corn soybeans and smaller cities. Indianapolis is a shithole.
Based on our conversation in another thread, and the statement in bold, you sound to me like a spoiled, pampered little child with a serious sense of entitlement and a smart-ass attitude. What a way to go through life.

I was defending IUB from criticisms that it was in Indiana by saying central Illinois is just as bad. You IUB alums are retarded.

If IU can keep its current USNWR ranking, we should create a market to which IU and UIUC will feed graduates almost exclusively(with the occasional T14 grad and 3rd tier law review editor), and then we can just start calling them the BU/BC of the Midwest.

Agreed?

95% of Illinois is lame, including the city I'm from. Chicago is one of my favorite cities, though!

Sorry I wasn't clear in my initial posting, I'm looking at a full scholarship from both IU and UIUC.

Although this thread has quickly degenerated, thanks to those who offered helpful comments...

Let's not kid ourselves. The entire state of Indiana sux. For those of you who say "what does Illinois have to offer? Chicago??". You're damn right. Illinois is one of just 3 states that offers a truly world class city. Any way, uiuc is a world class university. IU is probably fine too, but who cares.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
