Does anyone actually know when the new rankings will be published?

Though I'm biased because its my first choice at this point...I think ND will move up to 21-20ish. Their facilities have improved a fantastic amount, and they seem to be making a concentrated effort to attract a more diverse and numbers happy bunch.
Complete conjecture.

I am under the impression from what I have read that Emory actually is already too high. Job prospects seem (anecdotally) significantly worse than BU, who probably deserves the swap with emory here.Halibut6 wrote:15. UCLA

I'm hoping the T14 gets shaken up just to watch the COMPLETE HYSTERIA that will occur here. Seriously, I'll get a beer and popcorn...at work, even.

You might be right, but I also believe that WUSTL is also overrated. From what it looks like, Emory may have improved its median LSAT about a point and its 75th a point or two, which will make its LSAT numbers comparable to WUSTL's. I also think that, while BU is a great school and might be a little underranked, Notre Dame rises even faster.Flanker1067 wrote:I am under the impression from what I have read that Emory actually is already too high. Also, I meant for this list to relevant to the one that will be released in a couple months, not the one that will cover this cycle's results.

Ah, ok, I don't know how the rankings work, I assumed they would include this cycle's data. As for Emory increasing their LSAT, I just hope I am wrong for those student's sake.

Also, Emory's doing this without selling out half its class to splitters.

Vanderbilt goes T14. I think they might get their median closer to 169 this year. They've been WLing and dinging people with 168s and 3.5/3.6s this cycle already.

Georgetown didn't have time to react last cycle to the change in the methodology, so it will still be hurt by its PT numbers. Georgetown was only 1 point ahead of Texas and UCLA last year. Texas raised its GPA an awesome amount last cycle, and it should be enough to make up for that 1 point. So, with all else equal, Georgetown and Texas will at least be tied.

As did I. In my opinion they're kind of like the Cornell of the Top 6: a fantastic school, but their admission numbers seem to be a little weird every now and again. Their west-coast prestige is obviously a contributing factor, but if they drop, it could have serious ramifications for the 13-30 range.Rand M. wrote:Oh no, I think he meant (and I know I meant) out of the tie for 6th; restoring HYSCCN as the only T6. I disagree with the low rankings 27/28 for GWU.
GWU is a T-20 school, on par with BU and UMinn, they just got boned by the new part-time rankings, and they nearly cut the program in half to compensate for it. GWU will be at least 23. Irvine will bump W&L Alabama and UNC back. If UCLA were ever to become 14, this would be the year with the statistic hit GULC took from the same PT thing that wrecked gwu. WUSTL will drop back about 2, and BC will move up to 23/24. ND will move up 1 spot.

I agree with this comment about GW; because they cut their PT program in half, they should be back up around 20ish. Their GPA and LSAT numbers are actually above most of the schools ranked above them (20-27).Cupidity wrote:I disagree with the low rankings 27/28 for GWU.

Their FT program is on par with Vandy/USC. My 166/3.87 is one of the lowest scores they have let in this cylce.pennstatepride wrote:I agree with this comment about GW; because they cut their PT program in half, they should be back up around 20ish. Wait, can they rank Irvine before the school finishes provisional accreditation? I was under the impression that it took more than one year.Cupidity wrote:I disagree with the low rankings 27/28 for GWU.

Fordham did nothing to game the rankings. I hope we won't be punished for it.

The scandal will not drop their ranking at all. It's not like a couple dozen people getting an undergraduate admissions boost is going to make the reputation factor plummet or cause a bunch of people to choose other schools. I see no reason why this situation would have an appreciable effect on the law school's ranking.letsdoit1982 wrote:Why exactly does everyone think that the scandal will knock Illinois down a couple notches? I currently attend GW Law. In terms of our current 1L class (that will count toward the 2011 rankings), the Dean has made public that it is the best GW Law class that has ever been admitted. Based upon data for next years 1L class, it appears that they will take that top honor. GW looks to really be back in great shape (in terms of Us News ranking, as it never really changed much).Cupidity wrote:Their FT program is on par with Vandy/USC. Keep in mind that LSN data doesn't yet indicate where most of this year's applicants will be matriculating. Just because they have been pretty selective this year doesn't mean their numbers will improve (I'm not saying they won't, I'm just saying you shouldn't jump the gun).pennstatepride wrote:I currently attend GW Law.
