You've got to be kidding. Of course it's not a Michigan/Cornell/Yale, but I visited this summer while in D.C. and absolutely loved it. The buildings are beautiful and modern, and there are small quads in between each of them - all within a few blocks of the Capitol, Supreme Court, etc. For those who love big cities, GULC is great, and a lot more beautiful/campus-like than, say, Columbia or Chicago.

Anyway, it might not be your cup of tea, but calling it an "eyesore" is a joke.

You've got to be kidding. Of course it's not a Michigan/Cornell/Yale, but I visited this summer while in D.C. and absolutely loved it. Okay, maybe that is fair. As I said, I've never been inside the SLS building ... and if it is "meh," than that is a shame, because the rest of the campus is really great. I kind of take into consideration the whole campus (if the school is on a larger campus).

The SLS campus (on the inside) is quite nice. The library is really very comfortable, and all the chairs in the classrooms are those Aeron chairs. The technology is first rate. I have no complaints.

This photo isn't even representative, as there are more individual study carrels than wide tables like this:

I'm not sure if you can specify the resolution using the 'Img' tags in the phpBB forum style. If you use something like ImageShack, you can resize for message boards. I've just been grabbing photos from my Picasa Web Albums, and they already have it so I can grab it at that optimum size.

That looks sweet, did they build that in the last year? It's a good way to combat the general lack of sunlight during Michigan winters. UVA has a similar atrium-style commons area (pic on previous page), except they're apparently so concerned that direct sunlight will overheat the area that they keep it meat-locker cold.

I believe the new student commons area will be completed in 2011 and the new building they broke ground on earlier this year across the street will be done in 2012.
