Damned illegals taking jobs from real, hard-working Amurricans.

PS: You have my favorite 'tar on TLS.

you wouldn't have such a cavalier attitude if illegal lawyers started pouring across the border

Okay I understand Oblomov's frustration but this thread is getting ridiculous. If he was going to drop out of Michigan, he should have just done so quietly or given us some sort of explanation. To just set off some big freakout on TLS wasn't necessary.

I recently sent in my deposit at Mich and signed my massive promissory note. Certain things on TLS have definitely bummed me out, but not this. I know there's downside risk. Everyone should be aware that there's downside risk.

I agree. Poor form. I'm all for being a pissy little ingrat, but show some class. Oblomov has basically made himself into a flame, which I am meant to understand is contrary to his personality. Clearly, though, he has failed the litmus test.

This dude just dropped out of a T14 law school. He doesn't give a shit about the feelings of the people on this board. And he doesn't have to.

I admit to being intrigued as to why he has made such a seemingly rash decision based off the performance of career services. Obviously there is more to it than that and, like everyone here, I am curious to know more.

But keep in mind he doesn't owe anybody any explanations except maybe his friends and family. I doubt that anyone on an anonymous message board falls into that category.

I wouldn't be surprised if he never posted on TLS again.

I doubt he dropped out of UMich (yet). I bet he is just thinking about/trying to drop out. He probably left the school and is visiting with his family to decide what to do. I also doubt UMich would let him drop out so easily if he is going on 3L. If he drops out due to some reason like this and doesn't have a job lined up the chance of him paying back loans is next to none. So everyone should let him go figure out if this (drop out) is what he wants to do. Then he'll come back on here and hopefully explain. Remember he is a real person and doubtful this is just a flame.

We ought to give him our well-wishes and people should continue "who have graduated" to tell him that being jobless currently doesn't mean you will be jobless forever. It does suck out there right now, but brighter days will come.

After reading through this thread . . . . if one drops out of a T14 law school during their 2L year because of administrative incompetence, it makes me question his or her ability/justification for going to law school in the first place.

I think its a safe assumption his anger is more than anger at administrative incompetence. He probably didn't get a 2L SA, realized he's going to be debt pwnd, and is blaming career services (whether or not they deserve blame, I have no idea).

I agree, Oblomov really should have considered our emotions before deciding to drop out and post about it.

The lifecycle of TLS:

(1) OP raises valid objections. (2) Those objections are incongruous with the collective opinion of this forum. (3) Forum members discredit OP and his objections. (4) Forum returns to state of equilibrium.
TITCR doesn't cover how accurate this statement is.

Also, Oblomov, in case you're checking this thread - I require a pm.

P.S. U of C OCS sucks too.

Huh? No.

First statement: approved of your comment.
Second statement: let Oblomov know he should pm me because a) it's been a while and b) I'd like to know what the hell is going on with him.
Third statement: General contribution to the T14 students' "my OCS sucks" sentiment that has been aired ITT.

As I finished reading page 5 I told myself, "it's ok, there is no way OP doesn't respond if the thread is 9 pages."

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
