It doesn't really matter, you'll end up teaching English in South Korea regardless.

HelloKitty honestly with your gpa you'd be even crazier than what everyone makes you out to be if you didn't retake/reapply.Nom Sawyer wrote:Retake HelloKitty... take all year if you have to but get that LSAT up and you're golden for T6D. Eh, go to Harvard... if you're not doing PI, then placement for Cali is pretty similar. Plus sounds like you could use the change of location.ConMan345 wrote:Most important stuff: I'm tired of Stanford (ugrad) but want to work on the west coast, 1) Bay Area or 2) Seattle.

might be true, but she still has that 3rd shot... its only a hundred bucks, if it doesn't pan out, then I'd say don't go to law schoolIAFG wrote:2 153s, re-taking is not the answer. a real job is.Nom Sawyer wrote:

UofArizona without a doubt. The most money and the best clerkship placements of the schools you listed.cLams wrote:UofA- 24K

I was considering that option but I can't do anything with this major...except that I was actually thinking about Grad School. Thanks for the advice. It's just hard to up SC knowing that I might retake the LSAT and do even worse or the same again. But you all are right. *shrugs*mistergoft wrote: HelloKitty honestly with your gpa you'd be even crazier than what everyone makes you out to be if you didn't retake/reapply.

a lack of other options is no reason to get into LS. seriously. it is just a lot of debt for a job that is ~ as technical as being an accountant. get a job as a secretary and work your way up.hellokitty wrote:I was considering that option but I can't do anything with this major...except that I was actually thinking about Grad School. i dunno dude...looks like any job qualifies for ibr, and it's based on a percentage of your disposable income. the only time you'd pay the regular "full" monthly payment is if that percentage of disposable income exceeds the regular amount. just plugging it into the calculator, if you had 200k in outstanding loans and had a job earning 100k, you'd still qualify.mistergoft wrote:Yes but you have to make a certain minimum amount to qualify for IBR and it is limited to specific jobs. Therefore, if I take the IBR route after I get shitpwned at OCI by firms that are tentative about hiring grads in the top half T10s, I am basically circumscribed to living off of a mediocre salary for the rest of the life of my loan. If I end up getting a job that pays somewhat decently 3 to 5 years down the road, which isn't an unreasonable proposition if somehow miraculously obtain some sort of a job giving me decent legal experience, I'll be saddled with 100k more debt (and probably significantly more than that if I am letting interest accrue). Like I said, it's a risk; if he's not risk averse, I say shoot for the stars. Just remember that Fordham isn't going to give you a SIGNIFICANTLY better chance (read: better than 20% at best) at a job in a big firm...f0bolous wrote:honestly, with the income based repayment plan, does it really matter? fordham gives you a bigger shot at biglaw, but if you end up with shitlaw at either, your loan repayments are capped every month and discharged after x number of years (10 if public interest)mistergoft wrote:You won't get midlaw regardless.nymets123 wrote:Fordham PT at sticker (210kish)

not interested in midlaw. Big law for a few years and then govt work is what i want ideally.
Fordham can get you Biglaw, but remember that it's only really a 30% chance (at best). I'd take RN over Fordham in this economy, I think.

+1 out of H you're not going to have a difficult time obtaining a great job on the west coast, and if you want a change of pace Cambridge is a fun area located right outside of an awesome city.Nom Sawyer wrote:Eh, go to Harvard... if you're not doing PI, then placement for Cali is pretty similar. you will not make more money than a secretary out of the LSs you have a shot at, and frankly will be worse off when you factor in debt.hellokitty wrote:I'm too smart to be someone's secretary...and my tastes are too expensive.
