With 70% off of tuition, you're still looking at a total COA of about $120k before capitalization and tuition increases. The school-funded and school-hired numbers are a bit high for my taste at that cost. Atlanta biglaw always seems to me to be harder to get into than one might expect at first glance. I'd be more likely to bite on that for <$100k.TheSpanishMain wrote:Emory with between 2/3-3/4 off.

Good deal. Concentrate on internships and practical experience and you should be fine.BlueLotus wrote:BC for free for someone who wants PD/Legal Aid in the northeast (particularly Philly/NYC/Boston)

Goal: biglaw or mid-level firm preferably in Atlanta, but am open to moving
Ties: Atlanta
Alabama COA: ~10k or less
OR
UGA COA: ~30K
OR
Chicago at sticker, but loans will be from family with NO interest (I know this thread isn't for T14, but I need to decide if Chicago is worth it)
THANKS!

Should have also mentioned no COL debt, as well, due to working spouse & veterans benefits. Call it more like 35k in debt.rad lulz wrote:Base tuition is $48kTheSpanishMain wrote:Emory with between 2/3-3/4 off.
So between $160k and $140k debt?
Nah

Tough one for me. I don't like the odds of Atlanta biglaw from Alabama or UGA, but sticker anywhere is outside my comfort zone.wsparker wrote:Goal: biglaw or mid-level firm preferably in Atlanta, but am open to moving

Did you not get any money at Vandy, Duke, or UVA?wsparker wrote:Goal: biglaw or mid-level firm preferably in Atlanta, but am open to moving

Those would be better options for your goals.

I like that approach. Lump it in the "do not attend" bracket?rad lulz wrote:I wouldn't.anyriotgirl wrote:I haven't heard back from all my schools yet, but does anyone have an opinion on Cardozo for free (no stips) for labor and employment law in the NYC area?

Yeah, with NY COL and bleak job outcomes at the lower rungs of schools vying for NY jobs, I just don't see it being worth attending. I'll toss Brooklyn and NYLS in there for the same reasons.rad lulz wrote:I don't thjnk there's any reason to attend Cardozo iteBedsole wrote:I like that approach. Re: ITT: Practicing attorneys tell you your top choice is bad
Goal: Hoard money, retire young and move to Hawaii, or PI.
Connections: Strong in a regional Midwest market, no other ties
Other: COL paid for wherever. Ideally end up in a big city, either during or after LS.
Options (though retaking next week and all other T14 apps are on hold):
- 0-30k off @ Cornell
- SO will not do NU
- ~Half off tuition @ UCLA (Media law is top interest if not PI route)
- ~Half off tuition @ Vandy
- Scholarship prospects unclear @ Texas
- ~Free @ home city state flagship
Thanks!

Re: ITT: Practicing attorneys tell you your top choice is bad
Goal is to get rich and not die trying.
90K scholarship at Minnesota
105K scholarship at Indiana
30k scholarship at Texas + instate
90k scholarship at WUSTL
Additionally I have about 100k in the bank for this, so sticker anywhere will be whatever number minus that.
Other options include Northwestern and Cornell at sticker + possibly UVA/Duke (haven't heard back but I'm an optimist)
Also, long shot apps at Chicago and NYU (for sure at sticker), we'll see. I know this isn't for T14, but wondering if anyone has a compelling reason to take something like Texas debt free over ~175k debt at a T14.
Thank you

Can you guys make it clear whether you're posting total debt numbers or the amount off the total tuition?
