explain what? you're lazy. we have more than enough lawyers as it is. I hate the fact that you get to borrow government money, no questions asked, so you can sit around and watch movies, doing the least amount of work as possible. if you want to be a lawyer, you should be willing to work hard.
Impossible to believe that anyone that went to BU would end up at CUNY, unless they were a professor. I'm sorry we all took the LSAT, and this is so illogical.
I never said I was lazy, I TCB when I have to. What do you propose we do about this "problem" valkyrie? And I'm a student, not a professor. But yes, I just graduated from BU!

BU is not a top undergrad school. It's not bad, but it is not elite.
Not elite ("You go to BU, you don't have to study"), but still a very good school.

that's right, I said you were lazy.

what do we do about this "problem?" for starters, no gov loans unless you have a somewhat strong academic record (re: have a chance of finding a job when you graduate).

LOL, yes if you want a job at Starbucks, graduate below median from CUNY. This thread is wasting valuable bandwidth.
What makes you think below median people are working at starbucks. I saw nothing on that website suggesting that.

Above median people are working there too. What do you think "employed- other" with no salary reported means?

I'm pretty sure I'd find a job if I wanted to. I graduated with a 3.23 from the business school at BU, which, by the way, was .05 away from Cum Laude. Maybe you're right to a certain extent-I was lazy and stupid my first two years, so I kind of shot myself in the foot with GPAs below 3. Specifically in terms of jobs: My friend graduated with a 3.02 from the same school. He just got a job at an accounting firm with a 50k/year salary. (He's one of my best friends, so that's why I know the specifics). I have multiple accounting jobs on my resume as well, so I'm guessing I could get a similar job if I wanted to. Other less close friends of mine from the same school with worse GPAs have jobs in HR, finance, and various business related careers. I'm not sure of their salaries. Point is, I'd get a job if I wanted to. Overall, I don't care if I make 30k/year as a public defender or working for some other non-profit, I just want to be a LAWYER, not something lame like an accountant or HR person.

Probably public sector or public interest. That's CUNY's bread and butter, and it's not accounted for on that site.

Avg u-grad GPA is 3.04. Cum Laude for my class was 3.28. That's not that inflated imo.

EDIT: Sorry, were you saying that they SHOULD inflate grades? Cause I agree hahahah

CUNY's Public Sector outpaces NYU in NYC, but if you have better options you go for it. Rule of thumb, "Go to the best school you get into."

Yeah, but we don't know what public sector jobs those are.

If you're really interested in CUNY's employment stats, this might give you some info as well. Granted, it probably is a bit biased because they want people to apply to their school, but it should give you some info nonetheless: --LinkRemoved--

OP is probably representative of a number of 0Ls. In fact, I think every 0L thinks they will be in the top of their class. Few people really prepare for the odds being against them. Look at the number of people who go to bad schools expecting to do well and then transfer. Or people who go to lower ranked schools because they assume they will be top of the class there. It is very difficult to dissuade those people from their assumptions.

I don't see any reason to not give him advice. There may be a number of people who lurk here and feel the same way as OP.

There is a 0% chance that OP is who he says he is. He is a gigantic flame. It is embarassing that you haven't noticed that.

Yes, most 0Ls expect to be at the top of their class. But those people also expect to work hard to get there. And yes, most of them will be disappointed. Regardless, if you actually read the thread, you would know that OP isn't pretending to be a part of that group. So giving him the same advice that you'd give to those people is stupid.

On the contrary, OP is a phony caricature of a small subgroup of lazy law students. While there may be a small group of people who are looking to find out which law schools require the least work, they are not motivated enough to create a username on top law schools, seek advice, brag about their 153, 3.2 and the slew of shitty schools they are considering, and then come back a year later to update the thread.

OP is clearly a person who has seen enough ridiculous posts on TLS to construct this flame.

PS. BU Law is good but BU undergrad = TT

BU > BC :P. But that's beside the point. Everything you've read about me is real. If you'd like me to prove it somehow, I will. Just name how, and I'd probably be happy to oblige.

What? And the rest of the world wouldn't? ND and BC are rivals (OK, it's a one sided rivalry, but ND students don't particularly like BC). By any metric, BC undergrad is better than BU. BU is simply not that selective, and has a college of general studies that you can get into if you have the 50K to give them every year.

True about CGS and the selectivity, but I know a lot of people that choose BU over BC. Yeah, BC has a slightly higher rank, but they're just different schools for different types of people. If you visit Boston/BU and BC you'll know what I'm talking about. I myself had the opportunity to go to either (although $$ from BU made BU the obvious choice), but I think at equal costs I would've gone to BU over BC anyway.

Edit: I saw you actually went to BC, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about then. I'm not disagreeing with you though, BC is definitely the more selective school.
