People way overestimate how difficult law school is.
It's true though, isn't is? It has always bothered me that teachers and administration try to scare people into working hard.

And ND, I don't mean to be a hater or anything. How would you feel if I crashed one of your threads and told the mods to lock it up? So no hard feelings on my part. I hope there are none on your part as well.

I do my best not to make stupid threads. Perhaps sometimes I fail, but at least I am not an obvious flame.
You need a 'tar or it doesn't count.

Haha, well I finally got one, just wasted about 10 minutes looking through different ones.

The fact that some people are actually responding to this guy with serious advice is really disheartening.

Sounds good my man, purple >>>>>>>> blue. I'm predicting a top 1% finish at NYU.

Why do all the irish catholics (or at least the people that go to their schools) hate me?

PS I'm a blink182 fan and I'm guessing from your name that you are too. We should be buds.

OP is probably representative of a number of 0Ls. In fact, I think every 0L thinks they will be in the top of their class. Few people really prepare for the odds being against them. Look at the number of people who go to bad schools expecting to do well and then transfer. Or people who go to lower ranked schools because they assume they will be top of the class there. It is very difficult to dissuade those people from their assumptions.

I don't see any reason to not give him advice. There may be a number of people who lurk here and feel the same way as OP.

It's best not to go into 1L year with any expectations to be at the top of the class. If it weren't for this site, I might have felt that way too. Now I know that my grades were pretty much luck. Everyone at a T14/T25, arguably every law school, will be working hard so that cannot set you apart (though it is necessary for the most part).

this is why we need to cool it with the guaranteed government loans. people like OP do not belong in graduate school, or college for that matter.

If you go to CUNY and you DON'T expect to be at the top of your class, you're even worse off than we thought. Graduating CUNY median = almost certainly no job.

explain what? you're lazy. we have more than enough lawyers as it is. I hate the fact that you get to borrow government money, no questions asked, so you can sit around and watch movies, doing the least amount of work as possible. if you want to be a lawyer, you should be willing to work hard.

Looks to me like I can be in the top 79.7% or so! I pulled about top 30% in UG!

Impossible to believe that anyone that went to BU would end up at CUNY, unless they were a professor. I'm sorry we all took the LSAT, and this is so illogical.

LOL, yes if you want a job at Starbucks, graduate below median from CUNY. This thread is wasting valuable bandwidth.

BU is not a top undergrad school. It's not bad, but it is not elite.
