Re: Indiana Tech Law School
Honestly, that's what I wish all law schools would look like. $50 million dollar buildings look cool in the brochures, but the novelty wears off after the first semester. And then again when they hike tuition your 2L year even though the job market is in freefall. You're paying for those kinds of buildings with student loan debt.
The reality is that you don't need much more than a room, a few lightbulbs and a podium to teach law. It should be one of the cheapest degrees out there. You don't need lab equipment or even projectors/power points.
On an "empty prestige" vs. "actual value" basis, a legal education has to be one of the worst values in the history of the entire world.

But how will you learn without the platinum LEED rated building with a nice water features and rock climbing wall with 5 certified instructors on hand at all times? Huh? Tell, me HOW?JCougar wrote:Honestly, that's what I wish all law schools would look like. $50 million dollar buildings look cool in the brochures, but the novelty wears off after the first semester. I went to law school in a butt ugly building from the mid 80's with a ugly student lounge with microwave that bearly worked but 70-80 have JD required jobs

I go to law school in a butt ugly building (on the inside at least) with an ugly student lounge with microwave that barely works but 75% have JD required jobs and there is no better law school in a 1000 mile radius (or so they constantly tell me).

It upsets me so much that the dean doesn't capitalize his name. I'm not some grammar nazi but that shit is so annoying.

Their facebook group is now up to 17 members. Two are staff, so at least 15 poor souls are enrolling. A small part of me pities these people for being duped into thinking this school is going to do anything for them (aside from ruining their lives). On the other hand, the school's first dean abandoned ship less than a year after the school opened. If that doesn't raise a red flag to you, and if you still think attending the school sounds like a good idea, then maybe you deserve the crippling debt.daleearnhardt123 wrote:Updates? From the Facebook group on May 23:
ITLS Student 1 "Sad Face right now off email I am sure we all just got
feeling sad.
ITLS Student 2 "Things unfortunately happen sometimes but we must push forward with our personal missions and the embodied mission of this great institution to make all of the faculty proud and represent for our law school as Dean Alexander would want us to."
ITLS Student 1 "In full agreement."

Did you guys know that ITTTT Law has binding early decision? I just found it on their website. That blows my mind. With their admissions standards, is it even possible for there to be an advantage to applying ED? It's not like they can lower their requirements any further for you.

But bro, it's free. Also, your deposit is only $300 instead of $400. If you knew ITTTT was your first choice, wouldn't you want to save $100?Cicero76 wrote:Did you guys know that ITTTT Law has binding early decision? I just found it on their website. "The benefit to applying under our binding early decision program is the opportunity to secure your seat months before regular applicants will be able to do so, to be considered among a smaller pool of applicants, and the reduced deposit fee of one $300 seat deposit rather than two deposits totaling $400."
ETA: Actually, that shit doesn't make sense at all. Don't these deposits go towards the tuition that you will (and have to) be paying anyway? Eventually you'd have to pony up for that $100 anyway right? Dafuq.
