Definitely Cooley, in front by a large margin. Again, their entire platform is how much space they have. Why not be the frontrunners in space law?PennBull wrote:.Ghost93 wrote:what about the new international environmental space law rankings

Re: 2014 Rankings Released
I thought these were due out in about a month. The California schools fell, Harvard jumped Stanford, Georgetown clung to the back of the t14, U of I continued to tank. I'm a little surprised Chicago tied up with Columbia given the change in rankings methodology seemed to favor Columbia, but yeah... Nothing too crazy.

It's hard to tell for sure, but if that's trolling, that's how it should be done.JCougar wrote:Wait, is Mal Reynolds serious?

Why?IAFG wrote:It looks like Illinois missed its chair and landed on the linoleum. But I would still go there over Indiana.jne381 wrote:I don't know why Indiana is impressing people this year. It has always been a fine school and they are just doing that dance that they, and a few of the other pretty good Big Ten schools, do of jumping into the top 25. Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Indiana all seem to play musical chairs around those spots.

He said that he isn't revealing the complete methodology because if he reveals the details, law schools will attempt to game it.manofjustice wrote:At least school funded that is long-term, bar-required, full-time...it seems. It also seems the explanation of the methodology isn't complete.ChampagnePapi wrote:so school funded jobs got full weight?manofjustice wrote:"Placement success was calculated by assigning various weights to the number of grads employed in 22 of these different types of post-J.D. jobs and durations.ChampagnePapi wrote:Is there any indication the employment component was changed to only include JD required jobs?
Full weight was given for graduates who had a full-time job lasting at least a year where bar passage was required or a J.D. degree was an advantage.
Less weight went to full-time, long-term jobs that were professional or nonprofessional and did not require bar passage, to pursuit of an additional advanced degree, and to positions whose start dates were deferred. The lowest weight applied to jobs categorized as both part-time and short-term.
All these weighted figures were then divided by the total number of 2011 J.D. graduates and were used in the ranking formula only and are not published." http://www.usnews.com/education/best-gr ... ngs?page=2
Its a start I guess...
lol.
I think that's a great idea, but it's kind of tragic that it has to come to that.

What is up with "rank not published" for schools after 144?

Re: 2014 Rankings Released
Well, first of all, there are 5 schools tied for 144, so there's 148 schools with published ranks. That's pretty close to the now-normal 150.manofjustice wrote:What is up with "rank not published" for schools after 144?
Second, I'm assuming 149 was more than a two-way tie. Let's say 3 schools tied for #149. If they published all three as #149 then they'd actually be giving rankings to 151 schools in total. I'm guessing that, given the option, they chose to go with less instead of more.

I wonder if this means they stopped making up their employment stats (to replicate that of Stanford and Cal for the heck of it) or, more likely, that others have beat 'em to the punch?Lasers wrote:lol @ davis being at 38. they were 23 two years ago.
