How come everybody is always talking about UCI on these forums? It seems like every day theres a new thread devoted to it. Is it because there's a ton of mystery surrounding its future or is it because non-T1-stat students are getting in and trying to defend it as a T25? Im confused. On the same note- why do you hate UCI so much Dr. Dre?

if you want san diego, do U of San Diego

I would even advocate for SDSU (hot gurlz)

but UCSD has the ugliest campus in the UCs with a joke of a library. Probably has the ugliest student body as well

he can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Dre "in character" is trying to get across, albeit rather ungracefully, the core point that another law school in a bloated CA legal market is unnecessary, that its first year numbers are deceptive, and that attending UCI even at a discount over a known quantity is reckless.

Yeah, I understand...just wish, probably like you, that he didn't flame every single thread...I didnt even apply to UCI and its annoying me...

but seriously if you're going to go to a ttt uc for ug you might as well save yourself the cash and go to a csu.

fuck the CSU system...and the rest of the UC system (except UCLA and UCB)

schools like u of san diego and other CA privates offer excellent $ for UG education

okay, you are assuming the person qualifies for ridiculous financial aid. for middle income families these options are largely priced out of range and UC's are more affordable

so I'm beginning to see a little more clarity in your perspective. if you are dirt poor, then UC's are a shitty deal. but your advice holds no water for the majority of students

I'm not going to link all of these but these are all way more expensive than the CSUs.

yea, Dre is making the flawed assumption that you will max out each schools finaid package. then, claremont mckenna college, for example, will be a much better education for cheaper than UCSD, and santa clara and pepperdine will at least be cheaper cause UC's can't afford to give good finaid packages.

on average about 50-55% of students receive financial aid at these private institutions, and the average grant among those students ranges b/t $18-28K on a $50K+ tuition. So I'd say about a third to a quarter of the kids attending these schools are doing so for cheaper than UC

going to those schools (LOL AT PEPPERDINE) would have bankrupted the fuck out of me *shrug*

csu's back the (like, 2007-20...11ish?) were around 6 or 7 grand A YEAR, not including books and COL.

not if you get shit load of financial aid for being poor as shit

HA!! Now you're talking gibberish. I don't care how much they give out in scholarships, they're not cheaper than $1100/semester (the rate when I started UG in 2007)

It was a disclaimer, as I was sure somebody would follow up with current numbers and try to claim I was wrong. I believe tuition is somewhere around $2k/semester now.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
