The word of the day "subpeona." As in: Cooley will get the IP by issuing a subpoena.

So what if they do? They still don't know who's badmouthing. If I say tons of shit about Cooley from a computer lab at NYU, who are they gonna go after? Even if it's a residential address, you still won't know who's using the computer.jarofsoup wrote:Verity wrote:IP usually doesn't give your name and address. Of course doing that would make it harder to track down that person. Just like using a proxy would. But if you don't do that (and most people aren't that careful) than I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to track a person down.Verity wrote:So what if they do? And if it's a residential address with more than one person living there? ...how about just asking everyone in the house if its their account during discovery? People generally try to avoid committing perjury.

If Cooley didn't try to rank themselves as the #16 top law school in the country because of the size of their library then I doubt people would have the desire to give special ridicule this TTTT school.

Lol how the actual legal complaint uses the word 'troll'...
though I'm sure that is coming up a fair amount in lawsuits these days..

Apparently the irony of a law school suing alumni for badmouthing the school is lost on them.

Re: Cooley Sues Law Firm and Bloggers
They can't take down websites simply by filing lawsuits anyway. At most all they can do is threaten someone either by sending a cease a desist or naming someone/a website in the complaint. Unless a website or user knowingly spread false information about the school they have nothing to worry about. You're free to continue calling Cooley a terrible school with terrible ethics and a terrible effect on the legal market. It's a laughing stock among lawl schools. Prove my opinions wrong, Cooley.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
