If you want to clerk or work biglaw anywhere but NYC go to chicago.

If you want to live and work biglaw in NYC or do public interest stuff go to NYU.

The differences in USNEWS rankings and all the other bullshit that trolls will bring up one way or another doesn't mean much when you're within the CCN tier.
I'm not even sure Chicago has an edge in clerkships anymore. Take a look at Chicago's class of 2009 employment (--LinkRemoved--). I count 15 federal court clerkships and 2 state court clerkships (about 7-8% of the class). I have NYU's class of 2009 clerkship stats, and we placed a slightly higher percentage of our 2009 graduates into federal clerkships. I think this says a lot, since our class is so big. In 2010/2011, both Chicago and NYU will have one SCOTUS clerk. If you want to clerk for Posner, Easterbrook, or Wood, Chicago is the way to go. Outside of that...

A very Helmholzian reaction. I approve.

Chicago is in Hyde Park

NYU is in west village

Living in rough neighborhoods build character. Living in Hipster-nation builds entitlement.

Exactly, and the economist at Chi would agree on the integrity of this study too.

Which explains why they're a TTT in decline. They've lost the rigor.
