Anyone have an idea for the rest of California and New Jersey?

- Even though UofL is a T2, in my experience it places better within Louisville (the largest city in KY). It seems that every attorney I meet in the area graduated from UofL. Plus, there is a strong rivalry between these two schools and a UofL grad will hire another UofL grad over a UK grad just for spite.

Eh. This is terribly inaccurate. Kentucky's statewide placement is much better than Louisville's. This is widely recognized by everyone in the state - including students at Louisville.

There's no way I would rate Southwestern above USD for SoCal.... actually I personally wouldn't rate loyola higher.

I think New Jersey only has 3 law schools: Rutgers Newark, Rutgers Camden, and Seton Hall. All 3 are ranked pretty similarly (87, 77, and 77 respectively), but both Rutgers have tuition costs that are about half of Seton Hall.

I think this is pretty useless...

for example: Pennsylvania

Duquense probably does better in Pitt than nova, temple or PSU
Drexel even though new, as well as rutgers camden do way better than psu, duquense, pitt.
Guessing PSU outplaces the other in harrisburg but Pennsylvania isn't even California or Texas and this doesn't quite work.

for the most part I agree with you, but whats interesting is if you look at the big list being compiled by OP on the first page, PA is the ONLY state that has the schools ranked NOT in line with their usnews rank. So actually it may be most useful for PA. For instance, accorsing to USNEWS PA rank should go 1.PSU 1.Temple 2.Villanova 3.Pitt, which I think the concensus agrees this is off. So our list may be helpful.
--check that, OH is off on our list too with Case and Cinci being switched from their USNEWS postitions

I know UK places better statewide, but most the jobs are in Lexington and Louisville. I was specifically talking about Louisville and my personal experiences.

I still object to W&L and W&M. Also, if we're ranking the schools rather than merely identifying the best, you should include George Mason and University of Richmond, in that order. Although, we might call GMU a D.C. school.

Any stats to back this up?

I've heard Loyola places decently well in LA.

I've heard Southwestern is a large pile of fail.

I've heard there is next to no legal market in San Diego and the school struggles to place students anywhere else.

This is all stuff I've gathered from reading these forums, maybe people are a bit biased about those schools for some reason.

I don't think it's necessarily going to happen. I think that the three schools will remain near each other for quite some time. While PSU has done well because it really has increased its scholarship opportunities and is also investing tons of money into its two campuses, both campuses are in a fairly rural part of central PA. That will make it hard for PSU students to land the top jobs in PA, although quite a few will if it keeps attracting many of the top PA law students. If it was located in a metropolitan area, it would have a chance.
