I'm not sure what bulleted paragraphs are, but I think any form of organization other than straight prose would be acceptable.

I doubt it matters one bit, just as long as you have the three sections divided and there. Mine was basically taken straight from my resume apart from the last question, which I wrote in paragraph form.

ETA: More substantively, are you guys also including a resume? I feel like my resume is much neater than my individual answers to these other questions, but if I'm copy-pasting from the resume in part it also seems redundant.

i submitted a resume but didn't answer the questions you guys are talking about. i was under the impression that the questions were optional so long as the relevant info was included in your resume. my application is now complete but i'm wondering if i made a mistake by doing what i did?

The post-school activities question is optional, but I'm not sure how you submitted without filling out work and activities -- since it's obligatory, LSAC shouldn't have let you submit without uploading something.

Here's the language on the app:

You may also include a résumé if you wish, but you must answer a, b, and c separately from any included résumé. Your application will not be considered complete unless a, b, and c are answered.

Slightly hi-jacking the current topic, but what types of things are people putting under "(c) Other activities in or out of school or work that you consider relevant?" Does it not seem as if everything falls under A, B, or an addendum?

PS Sorry if this has already been discussed... I'm not the best reader (thats why law school is for me!)

I mentioned that I was completing a Senior Thesis. It's not outside work, and it's not extra-curricular, but it's a substantial honor's project that I wanted to bring to the committee's attention.

Uh oh..... Shoot, what should I do now? I mean, it's not like I really have a shot at getting in anyways but this mistake definitely isn't going to help.

Edit: So I just checked and I uploaded my resume in response to questions A, B and C, which is why LSAC allowed me to upload my application. I interpreted the Activities and Work document as being any document that includes all information relevant to questions A, B and C (not necessarily organized by each letter), which this version of my resume does.

5. You must answer Question 5a-c (honors, extracurriculars, employment during school), even if you are including a resume. Please. We won't complete your application without these answers. Many of you spend a lot of time (based on the questions we get in the office) wondering whether to answer these in bullet format, or in a little spreadsheet, or some other manner. Really, it just needs to be readable. Bullets are fine. If there is some honor or activity that isn't self-explanatory or on which you feel you need to elaborate further, a short narrative is OK.

I would probably call/email the admissions office and see if you can send them your answer directly. It's a silly hoop you have to jump through, but that seems to be about 90% of law school admissions...

Got an unsolicited form letter from Yale encouraging me to apply (not lgbt or URM or anything) along with a viewbook. I know it's basically meaningless but it was nice, anyway, that they shipped it via air mail to an international address.

I don't know if this has been mentioned already (maybe in the links someone posted), but I think this particular doc everyone's talking about originated as just a faculty reader request (someone apparently didn't want to read resumes), so now we all gotta do it.

For A and B, I actually found it quite useful. Like everyone else had mentioned, I selectively repeated elements of my resume, but b/c I was cramped for space on the resume, I definitely welcomed the chance/space to elaborate more. So while I "repeated" stuff I had mentioned elsewhere, I definitely used it to add more substance. For C, I think it's almost like the 250 in that they'll probably judge you a bit based on what you pick. (Or at least that's the assumption I made going into mine.) So I just picked the one thing that I wrote my PS on and highlighted that in its own little section.

Not to change the subject or anything, but I just my "mug package" today in the mail. Got a page long handwritten note by Asha. They don't fck around... she touched on everything I EVER mentioned to the administrative person who called me from their office and my student buddy. I'm very very impressed by that level of personal attention
