I updated too.
11/18 folks unite! Hopefully it means we're in.

same...when did you guys submit apps? I submitted around 11/10-11/13 at most schools.birdlaw117 wrote:I don't know, but it sounds like we are having pretty similar cycles. The bump is significant enough that Dean Cornblatt mentioned it specifically in his TLS interview, saying that it improves your chances. Though how much is anyone's guess.bostonlawchick wrote:feeling left out that all the other 12/3ers seem to have moved on to 12/6
does Georgetown ED give the same bump as UVA ED? is it easier to get in as a splitter if you ED?
The 11/29 group was able to get a password for the admitted students site the day after, though, so maybe we'll be able to know tomorrow!mst wrote:Well I was hoping that the 12/3 was an acceptance. Now all this means is that there's no way I'm getting a letter prior to the Thursday. Damn it.
Same here. 11th for most, except for schools I wrote separate essays for, those took a few more days.amkid100 wrote:same...when did you guys submit apps? Because I am a transfer student and also a commuter, I really have next to zero relationships with any of my profs. I had one other one lined up, and I gave him three weeks to write it. I went to go see him on the day I gave him as a deadline (November 5th) and he told me he couldn't write it because I'm still in the middle of taking his class so he doesn't have enough to say about me (really?? you couldn't tell me the day I asked??). So I had to scramble for another one. The lady that's writing one now (who I asked on November 5th) told me she would have it faxed in by the 19th of November. Still no letter. After she had me write up points to mention and more or less write the letter for her. I've been to see her twice a week for the last three weeks. I'm really at the point of just chaining myself to her desk.mst wrote:From my discussions with their officers, they really enjoy hammering home the fact that 1 LOR is all they need. Thus, I don't think it will hurt you, but if there are weak spots in your application it might be helpful to have another letter to clear it up if possible. How are you doing your other apps with only one LOR may I ask?

At this point the movement has become so random it's not a sign at all. I've been left behind and caught up and pushed ahead of people with my dates so many times it's insane to think it has meaning. Just know that a flurry of dates means something is happening with your app and that after like a bunch of them you might get a letter soon.chstar wrote:thelaststraw05 wrote:+1Ludacrispat26 wrote:I'm 11/24-->12/3, not able to log into admitted students site and no letter. are we thinking this is a bad sign?
Allow me to speculate without having any evidence to support my conclusions. To me, it seems like they probably have someone organizing and sorting the applications, that would be the first update. Then they move ahead as a group (sometimes more than one original date moves ahead together). From there, it seems like this group is often split, as if they went to two separate people, and then they exchanged. However, the updates may not be the same date, because the two people may be reviewing at different times. However, by the end, it seems like the decisions go out together-ish.mst wrote:At this point the movement has become so random it's not a sign at all. I've been trying to stay out of the business of reading tea leaves. Divination is an incredibly rare gift.chstar wrote:thelaststraw05 wrote:+1Ludacrispat26 wrote:I'm 11/24-->12/3, not able to log into admitted students site and no letter. Oh well, we'll see.

Again, 100% speculation and probably not even remotely close to accurate.
