Hypothetically, would you rather
Take the Oct LSAT test and get a 165 or wait until the Dec test and get a 170. Apply early with a 165 or regular decision with a 170.
This is purely hypothetical.

For serious?
This is like asking: would you rather push your own mother off a cliff into a pool of hungry sharks or get a blowjob from the most beautiful woman in the world?

Regular with a 170 - No Question.
The benefit of a 170 + score *FAR* outweighs the generally limited advantage of applying in early fall instead of late fall.

Actually, it's more like: would you rather stub your toe accidentally or have someone make you a delicious sandwich?

However, you're so full and if you ate another bite of food, you would vomit.NZA wrote:Actually, it's more like: would you rather stub your toe accidentally or have someone make you a delicious sandwich?

But you can always wait until the next day and eat the sandwich then, it would be just as good.Bittner1989 wrote:However, you're so full and if you ate another bite of food, you would vomit.NZA wrote:Actually, it's more like: would you rather stub your toe accidentally or have someone make you a delicious sandwich?

I'd rather wait until December and score a 167 then get 165 in October if those were my only two choices.

hypothetically i would rather get teh 170 in october.
But if you take it in december- submit the applications before you get the score back. Or if you want to wait ( and you have a job lined up or something to do for a year) apply in september of the following calendar year.

GPA and goals are often relevant info here, but the conventional wisdom is definitely take the points and don't look back.
