Columbia Reserve C/O 2017 - Updated with Poll

Post by wade » Wed Apr 16, 2014 7:32 pm

I don't think this thread has been started yet - so here goes. Good luck to all!

Here's a link to last year's reserve:
http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=208740

Based on last year's thread, Columbia seems to request brief phone interviews to reserve applicants they consider - possibly late May or early June.

Reserve spreadsheet:

Good luck to all of you.

Reserved today. I'm deposited at NYU but will be riding the reserve list at Columbia.

NYU gave me a nice scholarship, and I would only switch to Columbia for similar money (half tuition). I'm guessing that's pretty unlikely for a held-->reserve applicant. I'll see what happens.

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends...

I deposited at UVA, but I'll ride this list for a little while.

Is there a difference between reserve and first reserve? Are we all first reserve at this point? Or is first reserve just what the URL link is?

I haven't been reserved yet (waiting on rejection via mail). Can you elaborate on what the link is, and what the reserve letter might have said?

From what I understand, we are all "first reserve" until CLS makes its first round of reserve decisions (late May/early June). Then, CLS asks remaining reserved applicants if we want to be on "second reserve." I believe there were 3 rounds of "reserve" last year - going through July. I gathered this much from reading last year's thread.

So the filtering of candidates throughout the reserve process is done entirely by applicants' self selection? Columbia will leave you on the waitlist even if you're dead last and they know they won't get to you?

I think each reserve round (first in late May/early June) they make decisions - acceptances, rejections, and reserves.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
