For applicants who live in Chicago, are interviews held in person? Or are they still via Skype?

Does anyone know what the Chicago interview requests waves are like? I guessed ~2 weeks later since it seems like that's how far you guys were able to schedule interviews, but does anyone have any ideas?

Does anyone know how long Chicago takes to make decisions once you've interviewed? (Applied RD)

Just had my interview - nothing extraordinary. All questions have already been posted on here so I won't waste space typing it. It was very chill and the lady was friendly.

Looks like we have to wait until January though to find out which is a bummer.

After we have an interview should we send a thank you email to our interviewer or is that too much?

I concur, especially for this type of an interview.

It seemed like it was a little much since it wasn't an in person interview.

...and also 20 minutes so you didn't really even get to know the person. At least in mine, it was basically just me talking with no real introduction or anything on the part of the interviewer until the end when I asked her questions.

Yeah, I completely agree. It wasn't as harsh as I've read about on here occasionally, but it didn't seem too personal.

Hey everyone! Checking in here :) So Chicago doesn't offer a space for a diversity statement, but I was wondering if I can use one of their addendum options to upload my DS? I feel like my DS gives a more complete picture of who I am and it supplements my PS nicely so I really hope that I get to use that :'(

I did this, just uploaded it in the additional addenda section. In fact I'm sure that their website addresses this specifically and says that you may submit a diversity statement although they have a preference for showing it in your PS if possible. For me I liked separating the two out because although my PS and DS overlapped a bit I thought my diversity elements really needed to be fleshed out on their own and I didnt want to waste space doing that in a PS

Hey xnsch, that's exactly the same situation that I'm in! I'm glad to hear that I'll be able to use my DS. Thank you so much for your input!! :)

Anyone else go under review before an interview? Sorry, I'm being pretty neurotic about not getting an interview request yet....

Yep, went UR around the time that the first wave of interviews went out, so I'm hoping to catch the next wave! Don't sweat it.
