I told them that I was planning on coming to the April 8 ASP, but I would have to fly from CA. They approved reimbursing my entire roundtrip flight, the $18 round-trip fare from the airport, and $50/night hotel for two nights. Really fast responses! I'm impressed!
Really nice! I wonder if they'd do the same for someone coming from Korea

wow that is awesome, did you just email admissions? and did you find your hotel, flight etc. before you asked them to cover it?
On the e-mail admissions sent out, they said to e-mail Ryan Willard and included his e-mail address. I e-mailed him and asked him how much they would cover and when to book the flights for, and he gave me that information.

I am so confused by Vanderbilt's acceptances/rejections/waitlists. If you look at LSN they've let in a bunch of applicants with numbers much lower than others that they've rejected. I don't understand and the wait is killing me!

Maybe it's not all about numbers for Vandy... that's what they say. Hard to believe?

Waitlisted by mail yesterday; 171 LSAT, 3.1 UGPA, URM. A little bummed, but I knew my UGPA was a bit low. Anybody else?

You do have a strong LSAT and good UGPA, though--good luck!

WOW. I am shocked and stunned. Not to infer anything but the URM makeup of their classes are very small in comparison to most peer schools. When I went to interview, I was a little surprised looking back at the previous classes.
I think you'll get into better schools to be honest.

I'm flattered, thank you! I felt like they got back to me pretty quickly and was really hoping for some positive news based on that fact.

I stand corrected. If you are indeed happy about the WL (after being initially bummed), then congratz are indeed in order.
Edit add: Honestly, that's how I felt about UChicago, too... "could've been a rejection"

Haha, I don't mind at all, it was an honest mistake--thanks for the well wishes, Mr. Toad

And previous posters were right in their assessment: You will likely receive "better" acceptances than Vanderbilt (although I am a huge Vandy fan myself, too). Good luck, it's an interesting split as a URM, AdComms are probably scratching their head looking at your app... "now what do we do with YOU??? You don't fit in our pigeonholes!"
