Columbia Chances
I applied in early February to CLS with a 167 LSAT and a 3.99 CAS GPA at a small private liberal arts school (major in Psychology). I am an URM (immigrant from Haiti) and centered my personal statement around my time as a homeless person following my parents passing (in a positive/ "not looking for pity" way). My resume includes several volunteer experiences, and work experiences such as, substitute teacher at a low income neighborhood school, and as a developmental autism specialist. I know I applied pretty late in the cycle and I still haven't heard back from them. What are my chances at this point?

You'll probably get in.

Re: Columbia Chances
I sure do hope so. I entered my stats in the 7sage admissions predictor and got a 29% chance of admission for applying in Feb, but it said had I applied in September that I would've had a 51% chance.

I think you've got good stats and a good story.
A couple of things:
1) You applied fairly late. Most folks have all apps in by December- applying in February hurts your chances some.
2) You should apply to some more schools as well- especially next cycle if you don't have the result you want. Consider Georgetown, Cornell and other schools that take more international students.
Best of luck!

I actually got into Cornell, Georgetown and many other schools, but as of now the only school in my top ten that I have gotten into is Umich (with a decent scholarship). Before I commit to Umich I was thinking maybe I should give it a week or so to see if CLS, NYU, or maybe even Stanford sends me their decision.crazywafflez wrote: ↑Thu Apr 13, 2023 5:26 pmI think you've got good stats and a good story.

Oh, I misunderstood your post. I'd take Mich on scholarship over sticker at C, personally. Congrats on a great cycle.
