Screw it.. Lets give this a shot!
LSAT: 169
GPA: 3.3
Undergrad: Mizzou J-school (not an elite school but considered the best jschool in the country)
Softs: Couple of elite internships (including with the speaker of the house and with a prominent liberal think tank), plus wanting to do public interest. I also have a 4.0 in grad school, but i'm aware that doesn't always account for much, if anything.
I'd REALLY like to do an elite-ish law school (think Northwester, GW or Gtown). However, I know my GPA is on the low end, so I'm curious what y'all think!

Is this your only LSAT? What were you PTing at, what was your diagnostic, and how many PTs did you take? I'd retake shoot for mid-170s and you'll be looking at money at lower T14.

Nope, I took it last February and got a 158... So I'm pretty happy with this improvement!SplitMyPants wrote:Is this your only LSAT? What were you PTing at, what was your diagnostic, and how many PTs did you take? I'd retake shoot for mid-170s and you'll be looking at money at lower T14.
Also, my practice tests were around the mid-160's, and I took a pretty intensive blueprint class where i took another 6-7 simulated tests.

Give NU a good look, they value softs like yours more than other schools in that range.

If you improved 11 points after a retake, why not give it one more shot? Like the other poster said, you could be looking at scholarship money from a T14 if you improve another couple of points. Schools (that you are applying to) really only look at your highest score, anyway - even those that say they "consider" all of them.

If you would really like to go to an elite-ish law school you should really retake even if you don't study at all. $175 to retake sucks but the amount of acceptances and scholarship dollars you could get out of a just a few fewer missed questions is worth it.
