Please, I need some advice!
I am 25 years old. I'm from the States, but I've lived and worked in Japan teaching at a high school since I was 21. I really enjoy the job, and my board of education is offering me another year contract to stay from July 2014 to July 2015.
I got a 3.92 GPA for undergrad, a pretty full resume, and I've also got a 170 on the LSAT. Going to law school is my dream....but I find myself really wanting to stay in Japan one more year. I want to try to pass the top level Japanese fluency exam, and I want to finish my bad but loved little novel.
Do you think that entering law school at 26/27 is too old? And how will the job market be for someone around 30 by the time he gets out?
Thanks!

The average law student is like 25 and every school will have plenty of people in their late 20s/early 30s. 26/27 is nothing.

law school will always be around. live how you want and do everything you can before it! (I know I'm making it sound like terminal cancer and you need a bucket list)

Why would it matter if you graduate at 29 vs 30? It's just a year. Plus you might actually get some use out of being able to say you are fluent in Japanese from a few firms, or doing immigration work, or if you want to try and go back at some point.

Stay in Japan. Another year won't matter. I finished law school at 35, and I was still competitive for Big Law. The legal market is in the tank anyway. It's not like you're going to miss the golden ticket or something.

Retake for a 173+ and you're looking at Yale. Enjoy Japan my friend!
