URM wants your opinion

Post by loudnoises » Fri Sep 17, 2010 11:35 am

So, I know all about lawschoolpredictor.com and all that... but I'm hoping for some feedback from people who know about the subtle nuances of the admissions process...

I'm Puerto Rican / Dominican (50-50)
Female
Strong softs: Several student leadership positions, interesting resume, diverse experiences.

3.41 cumm.GPA (average of a 3.0 from community college and a current 3.9 from graduating institution from Lawschoolpredictor.com)
No official LSAT score but all preps have been between 163-166 (taking OCT 9)

I want to go to Duke, UVA, or Vandy.

Thoughts anyone?

It's a bit of a long shot, but shoot for your best on your LSAT and then ED to your favorite. The worst they can say is no.

(More of a straight answer: with your numbers, it's not too likely, but it can't hurt to try :-) )

You need to get a real LSAT score, but if you are in the mid to high range of your PTs then I'd think you are in at UVA. I'd research on LSN whether you even would have to ED, given your URM status.
