is it a waste to ED at GULC? 3.60 169

Post by romcomromcom » Wed Sep 15, 2010 4:42 pm

looking at the georgetown app it seems as though you have to choose right away whether early or regular decision without the ability to change your mind.

wondering if this is the best use of an ED with my numbers (3.60 and 169), thinking that it's probably the highest-ranked with even a shot if i ED. is it probably not worth it and i should just hold out for something a little lower to ED (or even not be bound at all)?

the idea of being bound to a school gets to me a little, too, but i know DC would be a great place since i'm interested in international. but i also don't know if it would give me the opportunity to get back to CA if that's what i decide i want.
just looking for some advice... :?

Thats your best bet, i dont think you are in without an ED. You can ED, and if denied or sent to regualr admission you can ED somewhere else.

The bein comitted thing is up to you, but it is the best shot you have. Maybe Ed to UCLA if you want Cali, you have a shot there

What do you mean by good prospects? Better than pretty much every other law school outside of the T14?

No non-HYS law school has "pretty good job prospects" ITE. Man you have to do some research about this process before you go gallavanting off to your cushy "International Law" gig in Vienna.

Yup. On the other hand, you'd probably be in RD at both UCLA and USC, if Cali is what you're shooting for.

No. If I was in your shoes, I would ED to Michigan right away, as they tend to have pretty decent placement in California. Then I would RD at a handful of schools 10-20, including UCLA and USC.

You're not going to get into GULC even with ED

I wouldn't use it at all with your numbers....but if you really want to UCLA or (especially) Michigan are better choices imo

i'm definitely applying to UCLA, but the thing is that i've always been in CA, so i'm looking to get out. it just seems like where i would most likely want to end up, but that's still very open.
ED to michigan, huh? ok thanks for the help!
