Hey guys, I noticed over on the Texas thread that some people were wondering about places to stay for ASW! I'm going to go ahead and individually email those people who PMed me this same message incase they don't get it but I wanted to share it with everyone else that is interested!

I'll update this list for people who are interested in the hotel I selected and will update this thread with instructions when to call (more about that in a second!).

After a lot of searching, both of hotels and different booking sites, I've found what seems to be the very best deal in terms of convenience, price, and cleanliness.

The Doubletree Hotel-University Area is only $109/night through the actual hotel website here: http://doubletree1.hilton.com/en_US/dt/ ... CSGBJBOD4Q

The hotel is a mere 5 minutes/1.93 miles from the actual law school per Mapquest. Booking sites such as Priceline and Hotels.com also show it for the same rate but I'm thinking (and if you guys are interested) I can call the hotel (Saturday afternoon so everyone has ample time to respond back to me) and ask them to try and book our rooms on the same floor. We can maybe say we're with UT Law's ASW and they can make arrangements for us that way. If all goes well I can give you guys the go ahead to make your reservation and we can book this Saturday/weekend!

Also, I received a message from a TLS member who had already booked a room and it happened to be at the same hotel so I'm confident other admitted students will have chosen the same!

Finally, someone had mentioned interest in sharing a room with another female (this person is also female). Since I haven't had the pleasure yet to speak with each of you could someone who is female, and who doesn't the possibility of sharing a room with another woman, please respond on here.
I look forward to meeting y'all! Let me know what you think in terms of everything (price, location, etc.) and we can adjust if necessary. HOOK 'EM!

TLS should definitely level a heavy assault on 6th Street. I'm in, and am probably in for the Doubletree, Catharsis. Great idea!

What day is everyone doing 6th on? Thursday is also a really good day for Midnight Rodeo if anyone likes to country dance.

Any Austin people want to have a pre-ASD meet up?

How long is everyone staying? I figured I'd stay Friday night, since I have no idea when the events will end and I don't relish the thought of driving back to Dallas at night with a head full of law school.

This also allows for a Thursday night warning shot across 6th Street's bow and then a Friday night total artillery barrage. You'll rue this day, 6th Street...

I'm pretty sure I can do the Doubletree thing (and of course whatever carousing goes along with that). I've gotten time off from work but haven't booked a flight yet. Thinking about staying Friday night as well -- I'll take whatever excuse I can get to be outside New England. Willing to split a room if someone else wants to save some dough, too.

And yeah, I'm expecting the segway tour to be the best thing ever. Don't fail me, Texas.

I worked at a restaurant downtown one summer and used to laugh at the segway tourists wheeling(?) by. If I get on one during ASW I'm afraid karma would bite me in the ass in the form of falling off/running over someone/etc...

Midnight Rodeo <<<<<<<<< 6th street. Count me in for the latter!

Is this hotel near the downtown area? After those epic nights on 6th street we want to be able to get back fairly easily/safely/simply/cheaply right? I'd much rather commute to the school on the two ASDs then have to commute to the bars.

And ya I'm probably in if this is the case. I show up on Wed evening and it'd def be sweet if we did a meet up of some sorts.
