Re: GULC 2010 WL'ers
You should really wait and apply again early next cycle. You can do A LOT better than McGeorge full ride. Really. If you can wait 1 more year, do it!DrPlacebo wrote:Doesn't look like SPWL status is doing much good. Still staying on the GULC waitlist for now (and hoping they want high LSAT scores), but I'm getting closer and closer to just going with the full-tuition $$$$ from McGeorge. I'll probably withdraw if no word by next Monday.

I can't wait at this point. It's somewhat complicated, but the upshot is that I'm going to be without health insurance in August unless I go to school somewhere that offers student health benefits. A lot of provisions of the healthcare reform law would have had to kick in earlier for me to have the option of reapplying.savesthedayajb wrote:You should really wait and apply again early next cycle. Does LSAT matter in transfer applications? The alumnus who interviewed me for Georgetown transferred in from UNLV after 1L.

What is the July 26 deadline that he references? Second seat deposit?

The July 26 deadline, could be for loans. It's not the second seat deposit. Or, it's for people wanting their seat deposit refund, cause they are going else where.

No refunds at this point. It's the date tuition is due.ryguy wrote:The July 26 deadline, could be for loans. It's not the second seat deposit. Or, it's for people wanting their seat deposit refund, cause they are going else where.

So, how hard would it be to transfer loans from one place to another?

So I know the admissions office said we shouldn't hear anything until July 30, but has anyone been accepted or let go since the last update?

Dear [Darkwing],
Greetings again from Georgetown University Law Center. As promised, I'm writing today to update you on Georgetown's wait list situation now that we are past our July 27th tuition payment deadline. The response to our tuition deadline was stronger than we anticipated. Currently, our full-time program remains oversubscribed, and our part-time program is full.
Since there's always a chance that a few spaces may open up, and you have remained in contact with us, most likely in the part-time division, we would like to keep you as part of a small group that we will continue to monitor. We will be in touch if any spaces become available and, at the latest, after Registration on August 26.
Please continue to keep us apprised of how best to reach you. We really do appreciate your patience and wish you only the best in your future law school endeavors.
Best,
Andy Cornblatt
Dean of Admissions

Okay, I got the same update. I guess it just took a little longer to get through the elaborate series of tubes that is the internet.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
