I wrote them a letter and attached my other offers and they gave me another $8K, so it's worth a shot.
what was your original scholarship offer?

yeah i'll be there tomorrow, im going to dress casually, I went to the cardozo one and ill admit, people are pretty dressed up, but all i care about is that i was admitted, they cant take away my admission, and i just want to be comfortable.......on another notee....

has anyone recieved money from BK? I received over 43,990, does that mean I have received extra cash for books or something?? Additionally, since i received a number amount, does that mean if tuition increases I have to pay the extra cash, as opposed to having a full tuition scholarship where no matter where tuition goes I am covered??

If tuition goes up, you will need to cover the discrepancy. If you have more scholarship than tuition, you will get that back in a check/direct deposit, with no strings attached as to how you would need to use it...

24,300 i think.. but I also don't think the increase had anything to do with the letter i wrote, as a few other people i know received the same letter with the increase in scholarship the same day

Can't go to ASD tomorrow because I already have two this week, am missing 2 days of work and can't afford to miss more. Also Brooklyn gave me no money and I can't afford sticker, so it's kind of pointless to go tomorrow.

The "my documents" site went from having A) through J) things listed to suddenly now having N) Seat Deposit STILL NEEDED, O) Housing Application STILL NEEDED, P) Housing Deposit STILL NEEDED and Q) Tuition Down Payment STILL NEEDED.

I think I got in (PT applicant)! Applied 1/26 but added updated LSAT score that was effective 3/9. OOOOO!!! Hoping for the $8 package!

Thank you for the direction -- now just waiting for the email :P Do you know if anyone has heard word about scholarship money? I saw on page 8 that it was coming mid-March but since we are smack at the end of the mid-portion of March, has it come out yet?

Based on previous posts, it appears so but I haven't gotten the email to confirm. I wish I were a patient person -- it would make this whole process a lot less painful. Let me know if you get an email (and CONGRATS! )

Nice, I will let you know. I'm not a patient person either, I've checked the docs section 20x today. Congrats to you too!

I just got the acceptance email. How do you know if you get any $. All it mentions in my documents section is N)Seat Deposit O) Housing Application
P) Housing Deposit and Q) Tuition Down Payment.

I included the email below:

Congratulations! It is my sincere pleasure to inform you that the
Brooklyn law school admissions committee has recently approved your
application for admission as a student in the
part-time division of our 2010 entering class. In
a year of intense competition for admission, this decision reflects
our judgment that you show considerable promise as a student, as a
lawyer, and as a professional. Within the next week, we will send you
a formal letter of admission via postal mail. It will provide you
with instructions about how to secure your seat in the class. Shortly
thereafter, you will receive an Admitted Student Information Kit that
contains instructions about how to obtain law school housing, attend
an orientation program, and apply for financial aid, as well as
literature about our faculty, academic programs, Career Center,
campus and neighborhood. As Brooklyn Law School continues to build on
its reputation for excellence, we feel that there is no better place
to begin your life as a lawyer. We look forward to welcoming you into
the BLS community this fall.

Best wishes for your continued success.

Hi -- I got the same email (part-time too). I just sent an email to someone in the admissions office and will let you know once I hear back. Congrats nonetheless! If I can ask, where else did you apply/hear from as a PT student?

Okay, i got into BLS connect. You have to go through this link: https://blsconnect.brooklaw.edu/STUDENT ... fault.aspx

Apparently we don't have permission to access WebAdvisor through our BLS connect accounts yet.

OK. So I went to that site but can't figure out how to access the info on merit scholarships, etc. It takes me to a page that talks about "Click the tab, WebAdvisor, located next to the Announcements tab on the STUDENT HOME PAGE". Where is the Student Home Page? Can you only access it through thw WebAdvisor through our BLS connect accounts? I feel tragically confused by this process...

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
