What are your numbers if you don't mind posting? You can PM me if you wish. I'm also on the waitlist and I'm just wondering if I have a shot.akili wrote:I got an email about how I might get an offer on Friday.

Re: Washington and Lee
I had an interview during waitlist preview, it was conversation format, which sounds less daunting than a formal interview but I think requires more prep. It was twenty minutes, and there were only two "questions"Langfall wrote:Hey I have an interview with admis coming up. Any one have any pointers or can tell me how their's went? Thanks eh!
Question 1- Tell me about yourself
Question 2- Is there anything else we should know
Make sure everything is geared toward marketing yourself to W&L, even in the confines of those very vanilla questions.

Re: Washington and Lee
Ok, So I just got accepted yesterday off of the waitlist (numbers in profile are slightly fudged with LSAT being a little lower and GPA being a little higher) but I have to make a decision by Friday. I just put my deposit down at W&M less than 2 days ago and I don't know if I can stomach spending another 750$ on a deposit. I have a small scholarship at W&M and nothing at W&L, making W&M 30,000 dollars cheaper in the long run. I had written W&L off after being waitlisted until I got the email extending an offer so I have done very little research about the school aside from my initial research when applying. Can anyone give me a quick rundown of some pros and cons between the two or any advice? Thanks in advance!

The honor code at W&L would not tolerate your fudging on your lsat and grades.

Then I better submit a revised application!Jaggles wrote:The honor code at W&L would not tolerate your fudging on your lsat and grades.

anyone else find it really funny how no matter which hallway you take- upstairs, downstairs, left, right....you always end up in the W&L Library. Sorry, unrelated post, I just chucked about the design.

W&L is a smaller school. Smaller class sizes, smaller faculty-student ratio, and the result is a tight-knit group. There are no other graduate programs on campus, and the undergrads are isolated from law students, so your social group will consist almost solely of your classmates, for better or for worse. You will definitely have a "hands on" experience at W&L.Mich33 wrote:Ok, So I just got accepted yesterday off of the waitlist (numbers in profile are slightly fudged with LSAT being a little lower and GPA being a little higher) but I have to make a decision by Friday. W&L places slightly better than W&M in Atlanta and NC, whereas W&M places slightly better in DC.
Both have good prestige in the region, but not so much nationally.

I really need to get off TLS and stop reading all the threads about how I'll never make enough money to pay back all of my loans. I'm totally fine with being delusional for the next three years.

I saw that earlier this week, wrote an 80-page disseration on the opinion, submitted it to the Moot Court last night; this morning I get an email from the Moot Kourt King practically begging me to replace him. Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown, but I accepted.jmhendri wrote:For those of you who attended the April ASW:

For those of you on the waitlist still, I put in my seat deposit but will not be putting in the June one, so that should free up about a seat!

Yeah. If you know you won't pay the June deposit then why hold up a seat from someone who really wants to go there? Withdrawing now would give them more time to plan where they are moving and where they are attending school next year.T14_Scholly wrote:lol, I was wondering that too.Headybrah wrote:why not withdraw now?

Does W&L allow deferrals off the waitlist?

Has anybody started looking for housing in Lexington? If so, do you have any useful advice you'd like to share?

Check out the listings on the facebook pages... both the admitted students page and the Class of 2013 page. That's essentially how I found my apartment. Craigslist and the Classifieds in the Lexington News Gazette were also useful. I've heard that a lot of people have had success with realtors... If you think you'll need a roommate I'd definitely stick with facebook though.slapchop wrote:Has anybody started looking for housing in Lexington?
