Well that suxs that they didn't send you the money with your acceptance, but it gives me hope that I may hear something!

That would pretty much end my cycle (assuming Cornell doesn't pull through, which is looking sadly unlikely).

+1 - If BU gave me $20K a year, I'd probably send my deposit in tomorrow. Maybe I should tell them that...

I was considering withdrawing from some schools, and now I'm going to reconsider that.

NVM that!! I really hope I get an offer, period! I feel like BU and BC are both borderline reaches for me, and I would be willing to pay sticker (but if I get in, pray that I wouldn't have to, lol)...

I'm outside of the states and I was admitted via email. 167 + 3.5x.

How much truth is there to the idea that scholarship offers come a week after the admissions packet (if they come at all)??

Dammit BU Admissions.

I hate when schools randomly send some random admissions email about something random.

My heart skipped a beat when I just received one from them; of course it has nothing to do with them admitting me.

Ever since coming on TLS, I've been wondering why people withdraw from schools so early in the admissions cycle. You don't gain any advantage by declining an offer of admission right away but could possibly lose the chance of a later scholarship/financial aid offer by withdrawing. I guess it's a nice idea to try to open up some other spots for other applicants, but it seems like admissions officers already account for that through their yield predictions.

I got my admissions packet yesterday after being accepted late last week. It included my acceptance letter as well as an additional letter offering me a 25K per year scholarship. I haven't read this entire thread, but from the last couple pages, this seemed like it might be helpful.

I just got some random e-mail too, and it's not fair because I'm auto-reject and I'm still recovering from the shock seeing an e-mail from BU law did to my system.

I think people usually withdraw when then can say "even with a huge scholarship, I would not attend." Based on other offers, or just personal preference.
