Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
ding ding ding. eh, i'm over it. and not even in the "i guess i'll go to UVA" kind of way, cuz the best school i've heard from so far is Tennessee...still though. I'm over it. There are already enough other schools sitting on my applications for me to worry anymore about a lost cause.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Both my stats are below median and GT waited a day shy of a month to start reviewing my application after my PT ED application went complete on UR 12/3. I thought it was because they were holding me for some kind of consideration and I had my hopes up, but I'm pretty sure I can let it go and focus on other law schools...

Yeah, I'm over it. I wanted to go to GULC so badly, and now I'm just pissed...not that I didn't get in, just about how stuff played out. I'm sending out five more apps tomorrow. In a really immature way, I hope that I get my Dec. lsat back and its awesome and I get in somewhere better and I can say IN YO' FACE GEORGETOWN. But again. Not really mature.

Yeah, I mean, I thought I was at least good for a WL, but what do I know? Like I said, I'd much rather just get it over with quickly than be put onto a WL that I will never get off of.Cognoscenti wrote:Another surprise. What's going on???dakatz wrote:I'm honestly sort of relieved. We had a whole week to come to terms with the fact that we most likely weren't in for good news. Also, we had a week to see the "real" Georgetown and how it honestly functions behind the brochures and pretty pictures. The school had dropped pretty far down my list over this past week so I'm much happier to get it over with than get some eternal waitlist. Though I was convinced I had a solid shot at getting in as a 167, 3.5x URM. VERY few URM's with those numbers were rejected in the past few years, and I wrote a very specific and honest "Why G-Town" statement. So, I'm surprised, yet relieved.

sorry for the dings guys--that's really awful of them. Any bets on what the 12/7 DR 12/8 app complete folks are going to be looking at in a few days?

The 12/7 people are probably in good shape. Everyone (that I know of) who was DR 12/7 have 170+ and impressive GPAs. Doesn't sound like a rejection pile...

Georgetown, in all of it's infinite wisdom, would have most probably rejected Abraham Lincoln if he had applied........

any thoughts on how the STILL under review crowd (for me since 10/28) should feel right now. are we the waitlist batch? or, perhaps so awful they won't get around to dinging us until march?

My dad sometimes uses the expression "goat fuck" to describe a situation with the general organization, logic, and screaming of a, well, goat fuck. Does this expression apply here?

This is my situation too. Are you ED or RD? I'm ED and I'm not feeling too good about what this may mean.MirandaHobbes wrote:any thoughts on how the STILL under review crowd (for me since 10/28) should feel right now. are we the waitlist batch? or, perhaps so awful they won't get around to dinging us until march?

I'm in the same boat as you and thinking it's a bad sign - at least for ED'ers. My guess is that DR on 12/7 (like on 11/30) were all acceptances. Those ED'ers still under review will go DR later this week (and like DR 12/1) will be shown the exit door. There might be a couple deferrals somewhere in there, too.

Aye. Ding dong bells too, but I'm hugging the 25% numberwise so weren't expecting anything. Still they should have notified us sooner, asshole. It's unfortunate that you've missed out on my beautiful face gracing your campus next fall.shanejamin wrote:In that case:uganik wrote:shanejamin wrote:My dad sometimes uses the expression "goat fuck" to describe a situation with the general organization, logic, and screaming of a, well, goat fuck. Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I agree. However, I think most of the 12/7 DRs are not EDers (same with the 11/30 group). The biggest movement of EDers was this 12/1 batch. So...does that mean they're showing no ED love this round?!sam7711 wrote:I'm in the same boat as you and thinking it's a bad sign - at least for ED'ers. Please correct me if I'm wrong- it's tough to stay afloat of the GT thread activity.

Wow, a firebombing campaign of rejections, and suddenly no one's posting.
Guess I'll start things over. Complete 11/13, changed to 11/17, not UR yet. 169/3.67, Master's Degree, 2 yrs. work experience. RD/FT. Who's with me?
