Does anyone know how scholarships work? There was no mention of them in the acceptance packet. I would like to know if one is going to be offered before I accept. Thanks!

If I remember correctly, it came in a separate envelope, although I think I received both on the same day. Just call.

E-mail acceptance yesterday. I'll probably be withdrawing so good luck to everyone still waiting.

Congratulations Nick637!
Thanks! Quick question for those that have got in recently, under the 'Mailings' section i have the following list:
Decision Letter Sent 02/18/2010
Decision Emailed 02/18/2010
Letter Sent 02/18/2010
Thank You for Appl/ Status Info 01/08/2010

Does anyone know what the first letter sent is?

Mine said "decision letter sent" and then "letter sent" also. I think that "Decision letter sent" really just means "decision made". I say this because I visited the school on the day that "decision letter sent" appeared on my account, but the person I spoke with said that letters hadn't actually even been printed yet.

Just received this email as well. I found it humorous considering the first seat deposit is due on April 1st. I mean...really??? Tell me how that one makes sense. Oh well, I will most likely just withdraw if I don't hear anything by April 1st.

I just sent them an email about this. I agree completely, I can see of no other reason to wait to award scholarships other than getting extra $$ from seat deposits that are due before scholarships are sent out. This is surprising and I'm hoping to hear back from them soon.

i think i am ignorant because i can't find the status checker on the web site--the email i received with my username, etc. has a link, but when i click on it there is just a page that says "under construction". where are you guys finding status info?

Yea whether that is there intention or not, it isn't right. I feel bad for that applicants who wouldn't be able to make IU-I a possibility without knowing the $$, and then fork over the $150 for the first deposit only to find out they won't be receiving any merit aid. That just doesn't seem right to me.

Im am in-state and above both GPA and LSAT 75th and am considering withdrawing because of this. I am anxiously awaiting their explanation although I will prob get some response like "this gives us a chance to better review all applicants" :?

+1 to just about everything you said (minus GPA). The only thing that has kept me hangin around is the possibility of a large scholly, but I won't pay 150 bucks to see what they're going to offer.

here is the response:

We do still expect the initial seat deposit, even though we may not be able to offer additional merit awards until April. Obviously, if no seat deposit is received, we will not consider any awards for you. As long as you continue to show interest (by paying the seat deposit) you'll be in a better position to be considered for additional funds.

very off putting

LOL! That's downright comical. I'll be withdrawing shortly. Good luck to everyone.

I'm very suprised. Why would they wait that long? Don't they realize they can lose good people that way? This is the only school in which I applied, so I have no choice, but I was still counting on scholarship consideration.

I have been complete since early Dec. I applied for the part-time program only. Does anyone know if they first fill up the full-time and then move to the part-time people. I think waiting 3 months is a little excessive.

I was accepted on Feb 8th for the part-time program. I have no idea in what order they decide these things. Sorry!
