Phone call at 4:15pm (Pacific).
they gave me a deposit deadline of May 24th. Admit packet in the mail, i'm in Chicago.
Will update my TLS profile and create a linked LSN profile as well. For the time being, PM for numbers.
Best of luck to everyone else waiting and thanks everyone for your support over the months.
Was waitlisted in mid-March, sent the WL form in the next day with a followup email and phone call, 1 page LOCI in early-April, and short followup email on May 1st. If you are still waiting and its your top choice send a short LOCI stating that along with your up-to-date cell number and contact info.
attending?

Seems like its all numbers-based (as has been expected from USC) high lsat/low gpa splitters. our applications probably were not scrutinized to heavily.

Hmm, I know it's early but it probably doesn't look so hot for reverse-splitter WLers huh?

In off the waitlist last Thursday!!!! Apparently they attempted to call me (????), but I had no idea so when I received an email from the fin aid office today requesting additional information I freaked out. Called Admissions and they told me I was in. Honestly, did not think I had a chance. Had possibly the most frustrating cycle ever (applied to 13 schools, in at 1, out at 2, waitlisted at 9, still have yet to hear from Fordham...) so, despite the confusion, today was the best day I've had in a looooong time

Sorry, forgot to post numbers: 165/3.52. I'm not sure if the high LSAT/low GPA splitters theory is correct based on my own acceptance, but I did write an LOCI explaining that USC was my top choice and that I would hop on a plane to Los Angeles immediately, even if they accepted me on the first day of classes.

Congrats on the acceptance! Since you are an URM, your numbers are actually pretty high for USC and your acceptance does not negate the prevailing theories on USC's LSAT/GPA cutoffs...

WL 3/19 and Admitted 5/13. Sent in 2 LOCI's and an additional letter of recommendation. 3.7 GPA, 164 LSAT. Hope for some lower LSAT scores out there!

I must guess by your statement it's some sort of "diversity" angle?

Yes, I would consider myself ethnically diverse, so that probably helped me. Good luck to everyone!

In off the waitlist, DF on 5/13, received an email from the admissions office describing how to access the admitted student portal randomly as I was about to receive my diploma at USC undergrad commencement. Today (5/17) received another email saying I was in and my packet was in the mail. So pumped that after 8 waitlists I finally got the news I've been waiting for, from my alma mater no less.
3.42/171 (non-URM) so I suppose I fit the high lsat/low gpa splitter for this batch.
Congrats to all those that recently heard and good luck for those still waiting.
Fight On!

Not yet. Was asked to submit a financial aid form/survey. Awaiting response.

Interesting. Will they use that for merit aid considerations? Or is merit aid implicitly off the table because you were waitlisted first?

Since there have already been straight acceptances without scholarships, I'd imagine that merit aid is pretty much out for most off the WL. Although I guess if a lot of people turn down their scholarship acceptances, they may try to attract WLers with higher numbers with the left over scholarships? I know they consider need and merit together in whatever scholarship they offer.

Why would a W/L student who had been admitted elsewhere with a scholarship make a deposit to find out if USC were going to offer a scholarship? I think most students admitted this late are going to assume they will get no scholarship money and plan accordingly.

Well I would like to go to USC (I'm on the waitlist), but Vandy has given me a pretty large scholarship. I would need some money from USC to make it less of an idiotic choice.
It's an important question because USC has waitlisted a bunch of people with numbers better than many regular admits, and it's kind of ridiculous for them to expect a 3.5/173 to sign up with no money (especially after giving the kid with 3.6/167 $30,000).
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
