Less to gain too. Let's go for the glory! Nothing but Queen and Prince, all night long!

I don't understand--karaoke? Did only the cool kids get invited?

(although with my musical ability (read: lack thereof) I'm not sure that would be the best idea anyway...)

Officially signing off the Yale 2010 thread now that my pity party is over.

Congrats to all the admits - don't forget how many of us would love to be in your shoes. Don't take your opportunity for granted. Good luck to those on the waitlist - hope your dream comes true.

And for those like me who are rejected - remember how lucky we all are to be in the position we are in. Catching up on the NYT and reading an article that focused on a family of orphans in Zimbabwe certainly makes me realize just how lucky I am. I may not be going to Yale, but I do have the opportunity to go to a number of T1 law schools in the US, and am going to one with $$. This poor kid is WALKING 9 miles, or 3 hours, each way to school. I've had my share of struggles and difficulties, but I am still very fortunate to have the opportunities I've had and continue to have. Sometimes I need that reminder that there are those out there whose struggles make my life look like a cakewalk.

Just withdrew from Yale...I feel very dirty. Dirty, yet relieved that I finally made a decision.

Hope you all have fun at the ASP, though! Wish I felt better so that I could join you :(

Congrats on making your decision, especially since it sounds as though you'll be with me in the fall! :)

Wow! Congratulations, BioEBear! I envy the choice you had. I'm a random anonymous poster but, based on what little I know about you, I think you made a great choice.

Congrats! Sounds like you have some good reasons for your choice, though I'm sad you won't get to join in the fun at the YLS ASW. At least with Koh no longer dean, you won't have to worry about any "you're making a huge mistake" phone calls in the next few days!!

What? I haven't heard about this. Did Koh used to call students who attempted to withdraw?

Yeah, I really wish I could come to the ASW. Still feeling pretty sick, though :(

And I would laugh my a** off if Dean Post called me with that message!

Also, here's hoping that my spot goes to one of you TLSers!

I had planned on going, but a volcanic ash cloud almost snuffed out my plans. But yesterday I landed in New York, so I'M GOING TO THE ASP!

You can sing Björk's volcano song.

And to Bio, I think it's clear you're making the right choice for you, but we'll miss you. We'll still have to have some sort of an online fantasy football thing.

I never received a decision either. I'm sure it is a reject, but were all rejects/waitlists via email or did some only come via regular mail? There is nothing in my spam.

Edit: Nevermind. I just called. Rejected. Not shocked as it was really a long shot.

Also, they mentioned that they had sent me the decision via snail mail, but I never received it.

ATTENTION ALL THOSE AT YALE'S ASW --

though i'm off to HLS in the fall, if anyone who's in town wants some inside info on new haven from someone who's been here for 5 years and loved it, feel free to PM. i'm around all weekend (currently in a coffee shop on chapel and park! short redhead!) and though i won't be your classmate, i am more than happy to pass on any wisdom i may/may not have acquired.

Withdrawn.

If you're a voluble farmboy on the waitlist, you'll probably get that spot.
