got the waitlist tonight as well.. 163/3.4, complete 2/3 with no further update

really surprised. can't help but wonder if my slightly later application submissions killed me this cycle. 5 waitlists; 2 which i thought i was in contention for scholarships from. no worries though.. good thing i settled on Houston last week. good luck to everyone this fall, my cycle is now complete. GO COOGSSS

I called the admissions office, and was told:

- They will not be looking at the waitlisters until after June 1 (seat deposit deadline)
- Waitlist is NOT ranked
- We cannot send in any additional materials, updated info (which seems weird... I graduate before June! Updated transcript!), OR a LOCI

Has anybody else been told the same things? I thought it was odd that we couldn't send in the LOCI or updated materials...

Little to no movement at all. Maybe a few people got off the waitlist in late July/early August, can't remember for sure. Personally, I sent many LOCI, visited the school, was basically told it was only a matter of time, but was finally told in late August that they would not be taking any more people off the waitlist. Hoping that things are better this year...

I was borderline last year. On the WL until mid August when I finally got a rejection letter.

I got my call this morning!!! PT evening program...but as of right now I'm not sure. Really want to go to school full time and I have already sent in my seat deposit for OU, but I will make my decision quickly, I don't want to hold up a seat that someone else would accept.

Congrats!!! Don't rush your decision because you feel bad about holding a seat. This will be one of the most important decisions of your life, and making a mistake could potentially be VERY expensive. Do research, talk to alums, and do anything else to make sure that you choose the best school for you. If there was ever a time to be selfish, this is it.

Hopefully it is like the waitlist two years ago. They admitted a ton from it and even offered money to several waitlisters.

So, I got DR 4/28....no phone call. Should I assume rejection? Perhaps the '4/28' means they will call you tomorrow. LOL Wishful thinking, eh?

153, 3.5, ft/pt. Really good softs - uncle was the chair of the acct program at smu in the 70s. And I'm a tripple legacy. And IMHO I wrote some very good statements, both personal and why smu.

I know my numbers are low (mainly LSAT) so I conclude that my softs have kept me alive thus far. Now whether they lead to an acceptance is the 1 million dollar question.

Checked my status checker and had DR today, (4/28). I have a $300 deposit due tomorrow at another school so I'm anxious to here the decision from SMU, along with the financial aid. If I explain my situation, will they release the decision via phone? Do they ever release scholarship info via phone too?
