Take a peek at LSN. I refuse to until/unless I'm waitlisted.

I can't bring myself to look at any of those LSN charts anymore either. Like I'll jinx myself or something. I have officially resorted to schoolyard superstition.

Reserve letter received today. I asked them to hold my app for my Feb score and they implied that the best I could do was reserve, so I'm not surprised. 3.64 and 165/174 for those interested.

Sorry :(
You have great #'s and I imagine you'd be among the most competitive waitlisted applicants. I hope you get in.

I got in with that exact GPA and LSAT split. You have a great chance - don't lose hope!

Sorry if someone has already answered this: are wait list and reserve the same thing?

If they aren't, what are the differences?

Put on "first reserve" - according the URL they included in the letter - today via small envelope. Does everyone's URL say that? I submitted 1/23.

Thanks guys. I'm actually 90% sure I'm going to the Kennedy School next year and am interested in doing a joint degree w CLS if they let me from reserve or I may reapply very early next year.

Good luck to all of the others on reserve.

if you want to work in policy a JD is an unnecessary expense for many jobs. you sure you need both?

I'm pretty sure there is just one "reserve" list and no "first reserve" or "second reserve." My letter says I am on the "reserve" list ad has the same URL with "first reserve." Can someone with more knowledge perhaps advise as to whether my interpretation is correct or whether there are in fact multiple reserve lists? Thanks.

From what I understand it is first in terms of time not rank. They will look through our applications again and make accept/reject/"second reserve" decisions in May. If you look at previous years tls columbia reserve thread it will give you an idea of the process.

not sure at all, which is why i'm probably not going to law school next year and may not go at all unless I decide that I absolutely want to practice law. although many senior people in government have JDs, the law degree is not necessary for most jobs.

Not great. I'm a 168/3.94 URM (PR) and I'm held - likely to get a rejection this week. They are holding tons of applicants.

I haven't seen tons of holds...maybe I'm just not looking in the right places, but this thread is at 2 pages after weeks, and lots of the posts are from repeat posters. I'm willing to be convinced, I just haven't seen it yet.

I have spoken to a TON of holds. I really think there are quite a few.

So did some people's hold letters say they would have a decision by April 15? Mine just said that they would reconsider me in April. Has there been any movement or than the rejection/WL letters?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
