Anything besides wishful thinking to make next week seem plausible for wl decisions? (because I want to believe also)animalcrkrs wrote:okay kids, getting excited about people not sending in deposits today and leaving space for me to get in next week...that would be AHHHH-MAAAA-ZIIINNNNGGG.

Yesterday was the deposit deadline for those who already got in (except those who JUST got in, they have until May 15th)ANON3333 wrote:Anything besides wishful thinking to make next week seem plausible for wl decisions? Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
Anyone ever heard of a non-URM getting in with a 160 LSAT? I figure they'll never accept me, but why waitlist someone you wouldn't think of accepting? It's not like they don't have enough people to choose from. I think my unique work experience (5 years) prob got me on the waitlist, but beyond that... ??

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
gpa? last year they favored high LSAT splitters off the WL (read: above 170) but who knows, it likely depends on how their acceptances shape up.

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
Well today has come and gone and still no word from NU. I was never put on hold, never waitlisted, never rejected and never accepted.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I called the admissions office last week and was told that my application was still with the committee. I would prefer not to annoy NU at this point and am planning to just wait it out - NU is the hands down my first choice - but would appreciate if anyone has any other advice. Thanks.

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
I personally don't think calling the admissions office speeds anything up, or impacts their decision in any way, so my suggestion would be to just wait it out. In my case, my application was complete on Feb 24, since that's when I interviewed, and they literally took the 8 weeks they said it would to make a decision. If the 8-12 weeks haven't passed in your situation, I'd wait for them to contact you.

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
I interviewed in early Feb... I just hope they did not lose my file or anything like that. Probably worrying too much but its weird to me that I did not hear anything by the may 1st deadline.jewelta wrote:I personally don't think calling the admissions office speeds anything up, or impacts their decision in any way, so my suggestion would be to just wait it out. Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
I hadn't realized there was a May 1st deadline. All I saw was: "Once your application status is complete, please allow 8 weeks to receive a decision. If your application is complete before December, the 8-week period will begin on December 1."
In any case, with other schools I was waiting to hear from that took longer than anticipated, I just emailed the admissions office. Personally I feel like that's a better way to go, because a) it's less bothersome for them than phone calls because they can answer you when ever they have the time, and b) you have something in writing. The two schools I emailed about my app (a while back) both said they were running behind and not to worry. That could be the case with NW as well.

165 / 3.83. 3 years WE, plus master's degree.
Not retaking the LSATs.
What process do they use to get people off the wait list?

Welp, my "Yes, by all means, waitlist me" form went out in the mail today, along with a 2nd LOCI (this one was brief, so as not to be redundant, as I already sent them a pretty detailed LOCI after they put me on hold in January). Here's hoping.

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
I considered writing "until forever," but decided that was a little too desperate-sounding, so I wrote 8/1/09.sharthree wrote:I had a dream last night that I got in...

BTW--what date did you all put in the consider my application until box?

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
I think I wrote 'As late as possible' or 'indefinitely' or something like that.
Hey, if they want to admit me after a semester's over and done with, I'd be cool with it.

LOL @ you guys. I wonder if after each cycle, adcomms go out for beers and sit back and laugh at how pathetic we all are.animalcrkrs wrote:I think I wrote 'As late as possible' or 'indefinitely' or something like that.
