Yeah, when I was in their admissions office waiting for my tour last Tuesday, the receptionist fielded multiple calls about peoples' statuses. I would call soon though.

If you call, they will tell you right away, and you can stop being concerned about your status.

Because I fear rejection
No, honestly, I'm at work right now and my boss' office is next door to mine. She can hear my conversations and I believe enjoys it. She doesn't know I'm going back to school and I'd like to keep it that way for the time being!

Perhaps emailing them would be a good alternative?

Perhaps calling when you get out of work, or stepping out of the office for a minute would be another alternative?
Can't you call from the bathroom?
Just make sure the cisterns are not going off while you're asking for your status.

Hey I bet you're in. I just gave them a call because I am a current undergrad there, and have just been looking at my old myum account, and it kept saying that I needed to view admissions documents that were needed. I called several times about it and they said to just wait it out and it should change shortly. It has been about two weeks today that it was on there so I decided to call again just now. The lady asked for my social and asked if I had received any email yet, and I told her no. Then she said "Well Congratulations on being accepted to
The University of Miami School of Law". So that made me feel good that I got my first acceptance!

Ok, well, my entire office got distracted by the news of the plane crash in NYC (no fatalities, miraculous landing on the Hudson River!), and when I came back to my desk and logged in, I got the acceptance message!! A good day, all around!!

I got a "hold" from them, which I guess is good considering my numbers. I'm supplementing my appllication, so we'll have to wait and see.

Thank you! I'm very pleased. I think this calls for a trip down there soon. I've actually never been to Miami.

I've been down there the past 2 years for undergrad...If you go there for a visit you will be just about sold. That's what happened to me when I took a tour several years ago!

The campus is really nice, and the administration is really helpful! The school is too expensive though if you don't get any money.
The good things about miami: nice weather, lots of things to do and places to go to.
Bad things: you need a car, and people will speak to you in Spanish even if you don't know the language. lol.

My biggest problem with UM is actually Miami itself. I love the school. I hate the hot, humid, tropical weather though. It feels like a swamp, and there's no change in seasons. It's perma-summer. The Miami area itself is spread out and doesn't feel like a 'real city'. It's more of a never ending suburb, and I much prefer the idea of living in a walkable, real city. Crime is high, and much of the Miami area is impoverished and run down. Furthermore, you will feel like a minority speaking English. This is my personal experience with Miami and South Florida. Your mileage may vary

Haha, whatever you do, don't go the CSI: Miami route. It's way too bright!
