I decided to take the plunge and commit to UCONN for their fall entering class. I just couldn't turn down the full scholarship and proximity to home. Not to mention it is T1 with a beautiful campus and my goal is to practice law in CT. Doesn't sound like a bad decision at all and I would love to know who my future classmates will be! Hit me up on here or PM me and we can converse via email! See you all in the fall!

Well, I actually just went to look on a Saturday....so I didn't get much of a feel for that stuff (I was at Yale for the weekend so just drove over).
I really want to do a JD-MPH, which they offer, and I think their public interest options are really cool as well. I'm going to try and visit on the admitted students day on the 28th...so if you're still interested, I'd be happy to fill you in then!

Not going there but I have seen pictures of your campus. It's absolutely beautiful. More people should know about Uconn Law.

Chances are I will be going there in the fall. Unfortunately I'm not on any scholarship so I'm hoping to get in-state tuition 2L and 3L.
I feel like I've been living in small New England cities my entire adult life, but unless I get accepted at UC-Davis I'll be looking to relocate to W. Hartford. I've already been browsing Craigslist for apts. I guess another small city won't be the end of the world.
Congrats to you guys going there! It's a beautiful school.

Hey there Pokle! Welcome (hopefully) to the UCONN 2011 community!!! It really is beautiful in New England, take that from someone who grew up in southern CT and then has lived in Boston, KY, GA, NC, Iraq, and Afghanistan all between the ages of 18 of 26!
I can give you a decent idea of what CT is all about and where some good places to live are if you PM me or shoot me an email. I think it is fairly easy to get in-state for 2L and 3L especially in your case as you would be picking up everything and moving there hence would have no significant financial ties to somewhere else. It is most definitely a beautiful school (used to be a Seminary) and it is in a good area (though Hartford in general is not the best). I hope we have you as a member of our class next year and if you do decide to commit please let me know and a bunch of us will try and meet up prior to the start of the school year. I come home from Afghanistan next month so I will be looking for a good party and some chill time before hitting the books hard!
I hope to hear from you and to see you next year!!!!!!

My fingers are crossed for you. When you get in, PM me, I am trying to get all the TLSers who are deciding to attend UCONN together prior to the start of the semester. I will be home from Afghanistan next month so will be trying round everyone up soon thereafter - probably in June sometime. Do let me know when you hear!

I visited UConn last week, and also hope to be in the class of 2011. I met both Karen and Gabriel. They're great people.
Crossing my figures X
Is anyone opposed to NYLS? That's my other viable option.

GCH,
I don't think NYLS is necessarily a terrible school, however, due to it's location and the fact that it is like the 10th best or worse in the state, it does not lead to very good job prospects. I got in there as well but realized quickly that the price of the school is not worth the location even with a decent scholarship. The cost of living that you would pay for the 3 years is not worth it IMHO.
That being said, I do hope that you join us in the Class of 2011! Please keep me up to date of your status and let me know when you get in so we can all celebrate the birth of another member of the class! My fingers are crossed for you and I hope to see you in the fall (or beforehand).
