On a side note. To which email do I write to for Why X and LOCI?
Would also VERY much appreciate help through PM. Never been waitlisted before. Just rejected.
Edit 10000: anyone know how many people get off the WL?
I have been sending LOCI and Why X essays to the admissions@law email addresses and addressing them to the dean of admissions or "Admissions staff" whichever my mood dictated
Do not know #s on getting off WL.
If you get good tips on what to say in your letters let me know. I have just been winging it.
Edit- im not an authority but my understanding is that UT likes Texans > Int'l > OOS so that could explain your experience.

Sorry about the WL. I too had a date change yesterday (UR2). No decision yet. Fearing a ding/Wl after your outcome. (International applicant.)

Does Duke have parking near the law school for law students?

I looked into it a little while ago, I think we have to buy a pass and the price changes based on location. Everyone gets to go before 1Ls, so I am curious if a current student could speak to availability of passes, and of spaces in the green zone

Two dings and a WL today. Rough day.
Fucking sucks man. I feel you. I'm at 7 rejects, 1 WL, and 2 acceptances. Painful cycle. Throwing some Hail Mary Why essays.
Four rejects, four waitlists, and two acceptances. Four more schools to go, three of which should be solid safeties, but at this point I don't even know. I'm really underperforming my numbers though. I wish I knew what was wrong with my app.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm confused. Are WL and Priority Reserve the same thing? If not, what is the difference?

I'm an internationally educated student with a 170. Maybe schools have mistaken me as a foreigner (Im as southern as you can get) and feel it's not worth the hassle.

I remember students talking about it before in another thread and from what I remember 1Ls don't have big problems getting a green zone pass, and the lots are roughly a 10 minute walk to the law school. Getting the chem lot passes (which is catty-corner to the law school) seems out of the question for 1Ls just because of getting last pick. This might not be 100% accurate but I think that's what was discussed in the Duke 2L answering questions thread.

underperforming as well. at/above medians for like half the T14 but I've only gotten into Duke/GULC and WL'd/dinged at the rest so far. luckily, Duke is one of my top choices. still sucks to underperform like this.

A new parking deck was recently completed about 5 minutes from the law school (just on the other side of Fuqua). Idk how the parking passes will be set up for next year, but i think everyone with at least a blue pass (or green, whichever is the step up) is able to park in the deck.

So I had some conflicts with the interview time and emailed financial aid to check in, and they emailed me back emphasizing that the scholly interview is optional. With some other good t-14 offers in the mix right now, do you all think I could still negotiate well if I skipped the interview? Just bums me out that the remaining times are in April...

I'm no admissions officer or anything, but FWIW, I think it would show a (relative) lack of interest. It's a fifteen minute interview; even if it only results in an extra $1000 in scholarship, that's one generous hourly rate.

I think the issue would be waiting to do the interview in (early?) April and not getting any initial offer until mid-April, which is too late to negotiate. I declined my scholarship interview for this exact reason.

That is a good point. I hadn't considered that.

Yep, pretty much my thoughts exactly. My conflicts are also law school related, so it's just frustrating to have potentially cancelling interpreted as lack of interest, especially cause I'd be thrilled if Duke gave me a decent package.

Status checker updated today to reflect a scholarship letter mailing on 2/28! Looks like they were just a little bit behind on the notices.
Happy!
