I visited about a week ago. Always knew SMU was a beautiful place, and I was still blown away. I love Downtown Dallas.

Its good for Dallas too. Its campus is stunning. I drive by it everyday and it never gets old. Probably the nicest college campus in Texas and any surrounding states.

I thought for sure I wanted to get a job in NYC. The more I look I would be happy in Dallas. Still hope I can keep Chicago and NYC on the Table though. SMU is a solid choice for Dallas. People sleep on them a little bit I think. They should be higher on the rankings.

exactly. I've always said that for how well it places in Dallas and how nice the facilities are, its one of the most underrated law schools that there is. Great reputation around here.

Not a large firm (spent a minute at one). Mainly do a blend of real estate and tech work now, like cell tower leases and negotiations, that sort of thing.

As long as your GPA starts with a 3 and you're around 162 or better, you can generally count on being in at SMU.

A few years back, you needed around a 164 or 165 to be safe. Their LSAT requirement has dropped a few points, it seems, with declining applications.

Sweet, what do you think the chances of getting money with a 162 are though. How much debt, if any, would you be willing to go into for SMU, also does anyone know when the app opens up?

I don't know what the chances are at money anymore, when I got in, 164 was the minimum for a good scholarship. You'll have to browse LSN and the previous year's thread for money chances.

I got $24k/year with very similar numbers this last cycle FWIW.
EDIT: Also, rising 1L here, feel free to ask me any questions regarding the cycle.

Does this mean you'll start this fall? Did you apply FT or PT, also are you URM.

Correct. I'm FT, non-URM. I'm a K-JD, too.
