On the WL as well.
Mid-may is when they start pulling off the WL right? Seems so late...

I've made my deposit at American and will be moving to DC no matter what. I'll be waiting it out until the end. I'm on the waitlist at Fordham Law as well.

I'll be withdrawing in the next few days, and I think April 15 is the deadline for the first deposit - so I'd expect some spots to open up and some WL movement in the near future. Good luck!

Are you serious? That's so funny. Where is your top choice? Fordham or GW? We should swap emails to let each other know if we hear anything.

In for the long run as well. I know COA scares a lot of people away from DC schools, so hopefully we'll see some movement next month.

I'm in this same boat and waitlisted at BC as well. Mind posting your stats?

Got wait listed.
Full of hope and despair all at the same time.
I need to gather myself, and start working this wait list.

Re: GW Waitlist 2014
Was psyched about getting WLed at GWU until I checked MyLSN and discovered that out of ten WLers last year with comparable numbers, ten were ultimately rejected. Pit of despair.
My hopes at this point are to get in off other waitlists--no breath held at GWU.
Anyone get decent scholly money?

Re: GW Waitlist 2014
What are your numbers?
To give you some hope, if you look at LST, their numbers are falling probably because applications are down and they haven't reduced the sizes of their classes very much. I got wait listed, some one with higher numbers than I got rejected outright. I think they look at the whole candidate.
I don't know where you got your info from, but the LSN info is prone to self report bias as well as it isn't an accurate indicator of this cycle. Maybe those people applied in 2010 when schools were flooded with applicants?
Obviously, it'd help me out if you pulled out. But I don't know... I'm trying to keep my hopes up. Keep yours up too. Deposit at whatever school accepted you that you want to attend, and if you're surprised with an admit to GWU then make a decision then.
I'm depositing at UMiami.

Re: GW Waitlist 2014
What do you think about the chances with my numbers - my numbers are 164 and 3.38 (bio major), grad school masters of biotech 3.54 (will most likely be much higher after this semester completing my degree too)?Agentsoapbox wrote:What are your numbers?

Re: GW Waitlist 2014
I don't know man... I know you're looking for hope. I imagine your chances are better than mine, since your numbers are better.
Then again, it could go either way. I don't think they grant people admission off of the waitlist based solely on GPA/LSAT. They typically use the waitlist to balance out the class. So, if someone who has a strong bio-tech background declines, they might come looking for your application.
I think I probably got lucky enough to be waitlisted just because I wrote a good PS and probably had great letters of recommendation. I have an interesting story, so if I get in, I'm a diversity candidate not an academic one. Though not a URM, so I don't get that bump.
Best of luck to you though, sincerely.

Re: GW Waitlist 2014
That is quite true, I am basing my conclusion on somewhat flawed data. I got 163/~3.6, so probably somewhere in the middle of WL in terms of raw numbers (and some decent softs). Thanks for your glimmer of hope.Agentsoapbox wrote:What are your numbers?

Re: GW Waitlist 2014
If you look at LST, the 25% in 2013 was 159. 164 is almost the median. you're right around the middle.
Personally... I'm hoping some lgbt hispanic from an underprivileged background declines so I can get off the waitlist.

According to last year's thread, the first WL movement was Monday, April 29th.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
