Looks like if you get an email, you are either waitlisted or accepted. If denied, you won't get anything.
I assume that the status checker will update first.
Reminds me of the LSAT score release. Same feeling.

Just got an acceptance email. I'm glad they didn't drag it out all day!
As for scholarships, the email says:
At W&L Law, all admitted students are automatically considered for a merit scholarship award. Please note, we have no need-based scholarships. Our only form of need-based aid is loans. Information on scholarship awards will be mailed to admitted students in January.

Waitlisted as well. Also a bit of a reach for me. The funny thing is I was waitlisted here for undergrad too. They like me but don't love me I guess.as975266 wrote:Just checked my status- waitlisted. It was a bit of a reach for me... good luck to everyone!

Also waitlisted. Would be interested to know the success rate of coming off the waitlist and if anyone has had success doing so.

For those of you who were notified of a decision today, when did you submit your app and/or when did it become "complete"? Mine has been complete for about two weeks and was just updated a couple days ago to "under review". Thanks!

Mine was complete since 11/1. So about 3 weeks. I read somewhere that it usually takes 3-4 weeks. I'd imagine you would hear in early December with Thanksgiving being next week.mx23250 wrote:For those of you who were notified of a decision today, when did you submit your app and/or when did it become "complete"? I've heard of some people getting off the waitlist in past years. W and L is a small school and wants to keep a small class so I imagine it would be tougher to get off the waitlist as compared to other schools.swchnc88 wrote:Also waitlisted. Accepted today with a 3.51 and 163...kind of surprised. I have really strong softs...maybe W&L is big on that? Anyone know? Also, I went complete on 10/8.

Checking in. Applied early last week and am "In review." Hopefully I'll find out either early next week or the following week. (Medium-strong softs, 167, 3.6)

Had a personalized call from Prof. Franck who had a large part in my acceptance based on my resume and not numbers. The call made me believe that W&L really does the holistic review of applications because I should never have been accepted.

Congrats..You are way too humble. Bottomline is that if your LSAT is what your profile shows, that means your LSAT is above their incoming class median. That means you should've had a chance to begin with, perhaps your GPA isn't that great, but you have good softs that made up for it. Give yourself some credit! Good job!tjsmms061906 wrote:Had a personalized call from Prof. Franck who had a large part in my acceptance based on my resume and not numbers. Thank you for time. How is the environment for URM. In particular to African Males. I am a black male who applied but was a little skeptical because I was not sure of the enviornment.lhanvt13 wrote:Current 1L here, if you guys have any questions feel free to ask! I'll try to answer whatever I can.
