I'm already deposited at WUSTL, but ND is an excellent school as well so if they beat my current merit scholarship there's a good chance I'll be seeing some of you in the fall :)

Any tips on the interview? If anyone remembers what questions came up / how long it lasted / any misc advice I'd be most appreciative. Went through the first ~30 pages of this thread looking for interview info and didn't find much.

ND does interviews? News to me.

Turns out it wasn't an interview, but an offer of admission coupled with a merit scholarship. I have to say I was completely thrown off as I expected the usual law school interview and then a few days of radio silence before an email decision, but it was a pretty great surprise!

The merit scholarship is a fair bit below what I've been offered at WUSTL, but they seemed open to reconsidering in light of my current offer. We'll have to see where the chips fall as after reading up on all the employment stats I'm pretty focused on contingency plans and maximal flexibility, but if they match WUSTL I'll have to take a few days to deeply consider it / talk to family.

If they beat WUSTL, go Irish :D

The initial offer is worded this way, but fair warning, I don't think there has been a single successful negotiation reported on TLS.

Here's to hoping I am the specialist of snowflakes! I saw a handful of 120K+ offers on lawschoolnumbers for ND so I know they have changed their tune this year and do give out money from time to time.

Conspiracy Theory - They do bump schollies but you can't talk about it to other candidates / on TLS? Something something Illuminati

Yeah, they haven't announced yet. Based on last year, it looks like it should be Thursday 8/21?

Do they ever bump up scholarships unsolicitedly? For instance, as more money is put back in the pot due to withdrawals?

Akin to the Foundry in what way?

New finishes, modern: The Overlook studios and 1BR. Several in this thread are living there. Furnished. All utilities (including internet and cable) for $795. Also very near campus. Just on the other side of the practice fields. As close a walk to the law school as The Foundry.

For all the amenities of the Foundry: University Edge. Free tanning. Pools and shit. It's across the highway though and seems to require one to bike or take the bus.

I was looking for something new and with a doorman, like the Foundry. I had a hard time hunting down places with a doorman that also allows pets.

Thank you for the info. I left a message with The Overlook, and it is all booked up :( I need to be on a WL. It seemed like a great deal for the price... apparently, everyone else thought so too. Since the Overlook is booked up, do I have no choice other than the Foundry? (Edge is a little too far for me; I want to be within walking distance to school, etc)

A quick public service announcement for fellow/future Domers. Because ND is switching supplier from Adidas to Under Armors starting July 1st, all Adidas gears are on sale for deep discounts. You can get them online from the bookstore even if you are not in South Bend! Great opportunity to stock up on ND gear before school starts.

Thanks Kyle! Anyone else having problems w/ specific items? When I go to details on certain items it provides the description but not size options or an add to cart button.

For instance, the climalite polo: http://www.bkstr.com/webapp/wcs/stores/ ... &langId=-1

I think that is because it is completely sold out. $5 for an Adidas polo is a steal.

Highly considering ND but what do you think my chances are with these numbers. I'm apply next cycle with a 3.5x from Berkeley and a 163 LSAT (retaking in sept)

You're question would be better posed in the "What Are My Chances?" forum or the forum for next years application cycle.

That said, happy to address it.

It seems like you should be in a pretty solid range but nowhere near a guarantee.
FYI, it sucks but the fact that your undergrad is prestigious matters very little.
If you have another year at school, (1) get your GPA up and (2) consider working for 1-3 years post UG pre-lawschool, only take the LSAT when you are 100% sure you've studied all you can.
If your GPA is already locked in, then you definitely need to make sure you are as prepared for the LSAT as you can be. Cancel and reschedule if necessary.

You're in a good place for ND, but when admission isn't even guaranteed, it's doubtful you'll get good money. ND is expensive. All schools are. You need to focus on getting your #s up so that you can have your choice of great schools with great money.

Good luck!

Probable, but most likely little money if any. Consider retaking if you would like more options or more $$.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
