Has anyone gotten a response before the tenth day? Would be wonderful to get it sooner.

Apologize in advance if my question has already been answered.
Yep - you can basically get it anywhere from 3 days after going complete to the full 10 days
Cool, thanks.

Hopefully, I'll hear back sooner rather than later.

Duke 1L here, if anyone has any questions about the school or my application process last year in general, feel free to ask away here or through PM.

Goodluck.

Thanks, Specs and t14splitter!

Also forgot to add: I applied PT and I did write a Why Duke essay, mostly about their offerings in my specific area of interest.

I just got in! Email received at 3:14 pm. My application went complete on 9/11.

172/3.64

I'm so thrilled, but I don't think it's really sunk in yet.

Edit: I also wrote a Why Duke and a diversity statement.

Double Edit: applied RD, Priority Track

Got in at 3:14 pm as well. Went complete 9/11. If it matters, I wrote a Diversity statement too.

Haven't decided what my top choice is yet, but Duke is a contender so I'm pretty stoked.

Good luck to everyone else waiting for decisions.

Are the only people getting in ED applicants, or are RDers hearing back already as well?

I just got in via PT.

Does anyone know if the separate, later application for merit and need-based aid is standard for T14 schools? Or is this just a Duke thing?

It varies entirely from school to school. Duke's process is very lenient since it only requires a signature for merit and the completion of Need Access (which all schools will ask for). You submit a single form and a couple weeks later your offer arrives in the mail or by PDF email on request.

Scholarship policies range from over the phone with admission like UVA to separate application with essays due in the spring for merit or need, as in Northwestern's case. I believe there is a thread with specifics for each school.. There are too many different systems and exceptions to list here

Priority Track. All it means is that duke will give you a response within 10 days of your application going complete non-binding. Invites went out for it with fee waivers about a month ago. I believe some people were successful at soliciting it, but I'm not completely sure though

i'm just being super neurotic, but the status date on my PT application, which went under review on the 17th changed to the 24th. Does that mean a decision is imminent, or merely that I moved to the next stage of the process? or maybe all this anticipation is making my brain decay?
thanks!

It means you're about to get a decision. My UR date changed after a week. Then 3 days later I got the decision

probably within the next few days. My status date changed after a few days while under review, and I found out I got in on the 10th day after it went complete.
