Re: Duke c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
Hi all,
Quick question. I applied to Duke back in December non-PT and have been "File complete-ready to review" since 12/17. Should I be concerned that it's taking so long to be under review? I was looking at the original post and it said that "under review" is fast, so I was wondering what's up with my app.
Thanks!

Not in your situation, so take this with a grain of salt, but I would wait until the end of the month at least. Seems like PT is the only thing they are taking care of at the moment.TheRealJoshuaLyman wrote:Hi all,

Congrats new admits! This is just another reminder for folks who might not have been reading every post on every page...Priority Reserve and the Waitlist are not graveyards. Do not feel wrecked if you didn't get in right away. If you want Duke, keep letting them know you're still interested. It's a pretty small class compared to a lot of other schools, but there will be movement on those lists all through spring and summer as other people who are admitted decide to go elsewhere.

The first people I saw talking about it in last year's thread started at the very end of January.Gucci Mane wrote:Anyone here manage to successfully get off the Priority Reserve waitlist yet?

What's the difference between PT > Priority Reserve, PT > waitlist and Submitted > Waitlist?
Which one is best?
And what to do after PT > Priority reserve if u had already submitted a why essay? How soon do you get taken of Priority Reserve?

Did you write a why Duke?Arrow4Christ wrote:To my surprise, I was put on Priority Reserve. This freaks me out about the rest of my cycle because I thought I would have auto-admit numbers at Duke

I was thinking this as well, I wouldn't be too stressed at this point.samoby wrote:The first people I saw talking about it in last year's thread started at the very end of January.Gucci Mane wrote:Anyone here manage to successfully get off the Priority Reserve waitlist yet?

Good to hear. I'm interested in Duke, but I'd hate to have to wait through waitlists and risk missing out on a scholly they'd give out during the regular cycle.Nonconsecutive wrote:I was thinking this as well, I wouldn't be too stressed at this point.samoby wrote:The first people I saw talking about it in last year's thread started at the very end of January.Gucci Mane wrote:Anyone here manage to successfully get off the Priority Reserve waitlist yet?

Has to be YP with your numbers. I got in without a "Why Duke?" with my 173/3.65.Arrow4Christ wrote:To my surprise, I was put on Priority Reserve. This freaks me out about the rest of my cycle because I thought I would have auto-admit numbers at Duke

FYI for non-PT folks still waiting - I applied in early November, non-PT, and after two months of "Application complete" I've just gone under review. There is hope!

Their non-pt timeline seems odd. I applied mid december and went UR 1/6 but nothing since.musharraf wrote:FYI for non-PT folks still waiting - I applied in early November, non-PT, and after two months of "Application complete" I've just gone under review. There is hope!

One factor delaying my review is I retook the LSAT in December. I expected to go into review shortly after those scores were released (3+ weeks ago), but expectations can be a bad thing in this process.JustHawkin wrote:Whoa...musharraf wrote:FYI for non-PT folks still waiting - I applied in early November, non-PT, and after two months of "Application complete" I've just gone under review. My PT application was UR with a status date of 1/14, and is now UR with a status date of 1/21. This is the only time that my status date has changed. Is that normal? Or is that generally a sign that they're about to send you your decision?

I'm in the exact same boat with PT and dates. Not sure what it means, but I'm bracing for PR tomorrow.ginnyvskramer wrote:My PT application was UR with a status date of 1/14, and is now UR with a status date of 1/21. Are "Complete. Ready for Review." and "Under review" two different statuses for non-PT folks?angels2fly wrote:Their non-pt timeline seems odd. I've had the former since 1/13, and am now wondering if my file is even under review.

^ I'm non-pt and my status is "file under review".
Hope this helps!
